This programme was so summery! I loved it! I have tried to look on amazon but its £50 for the region 1 dvd !!?? Or its £20 odd pound for it from the US ?? Why??? I soooo enjoyed this programme, I love the grounds it was filmed in-So beautiful and romantic! ( I didn't feel guilty about lounging around watching it either, as it was quite educational too ! )

Gorgeous men..... Miss Hopkins is(was) soooo lucky!!
Mr. Carrington
Mr Gorrel Barnes
Mr. Everett
Captain Glover
Mr. Foxsmith
Zebedee Helm - What did they call him again-the hermit?

Much Love,
Miss Devlin

I loved Regency Party too! I recorded it when it first aired, and then puchased the DVD set.

At first, I was not sure how I was going to respond to Regency Party, because the setting was representative of the luxuriant, opulant, and wasteful Regency era. But, after the first few minutes, it was obvious that living that type of lifestyle was physically difficult and emotionally strenuous.

Chris Gorell Barnes is immensely gorgeous. On the DVD, he revealed that he fell in love with one of the Chambermaids. Unfortunately, she was the girlfriend of his valet, and was unable to have a relationship with her.

Yes, the Hermit was called the Hermit.

PBS will be airing another House series soon, called Texas Ranch House.

Oh Im so glad someone else loves it too! Im in England, so I don't have PBS, but I guess that they might air that series over here after a while? I want to buy the boxset, but its quite expensive over here. Check this site for all RHP info, its really good...: http://www.channel4.com/history/microsites/R/regencyhouse/index.html

There is also a book that accompanies the series, but I haven't read it. =)

I know, they all laughed, and he was serious. He claimed he fell in love with his maid, but couldn't do anything about it, because she was his valet's real-life girlfriend.

I purchased my dvd through PBS, it has two discs. I also purchased the companion book which contains more details.

Chris was asked, Who did you fancy most in the house?
He replied: Alex one of the Chambermaids - who unfortunately was my Valet's girlfriend, and as he had to shave me every morning with a cut throat...!

What harassment?!

Yes, the one who was almost sobbing was his valet. I think Barnes also looked like he was about to sob as well.

I thought it was so sad when Mr Fox Smith was crying over Lady Davenport...on the channel four website they asked him: " Which female did you personally think the most attractive?"
'All the girls were lovely, but Lady Devonport was the one for me'...that was so cute ! I thought he looked so much younger than her though, and she said that it was painfully obvious that she liked him, but her love was requited!

I would've given up being a valet's girlfriend for him!! who's with me ?!!! LOL

yea the valet was a pretty good looking guy.

I really wanted Mr. Gorell Barnes to fall for the Countess, I really liked her and I got the feeling that she had really fallen for him and he kind of used her at the end I think.

I loved this too and I am soo happy its being aired here in the states again. My favorite parts that always have me rolling on the floor laughing is when Mr.Everett gets drunk and serenades Ms. Hopkins and the morning after his drunken escapades when he talks to a footman. I think he said to the footman something like "It was one of those nights again. You know, i fell asleep on the billiard table and then under the billiard table" hehe he is hilarious when he is drunk. But he is cute when he is sober too.
