This show was so unbelievably good until...

they brought in the whole 'undead' thing. This had such a good friendship/gangster/power hungry story going and it ruined it.

There is a Simpson's quote for every situation in life.

Well, I think it was not a bad idea in itself, except for the few ridiculous scenes, like Bob Poundmax turning into a human helicopter.

But I did not mind the rest.

If the action was all like Necro rised-Heat vs. Superior Bunji,
It would have been more badass,
But the first episode with the lame shooting sucks big time,
And they have a replay of it in one episode.

Kickass move.

You are absolutely right!

I've tried watching Gungrave once before, but the first episode did not interest me what so ever, in fact it made me delete the anime from my hard drive. But after looking online for a new anime (and after I've finished Trigun) I saw the good reviews for this anime and thought I should give it another go.

I really liked the rise of both Harry and Brandon in the mafia, but as soon as they introduced Necrolyze (or whatever it's called) for me the anime dropped. I was starting to get bored and couldn't wait to finish it and see the so called marvelous ending. Though for me the ending didn't deliver, but thats probably because i lost interest already.

Not trolling or flaming the show, because the first part (minus the first episode) was really good and made me lose some sleep, because I wanted to know what would happen in the next episode.

I will say though, for a anime that's based on a video game (GunGrave: Overdose) it's better then I would've expected.
