I almost cry in the ending...

I just brought the complete series DVD.
All Brandon wants to be with Harry... not the Millenion. Also, what will Mika do?

reply

Tell me, does Brandon die in the end? Since I thought he had a limited life span since he was brought back?

reply

Yeah, that last exchange hits pretty hard. "I couldn't kill my best friend." Wow.

I was expecting some sort of fist fight or something, but this was just perfect. I don't think it could have ended better.

that's why i never open topics on things i've never seen before :P

I hate the way some jerk just spoiled the ending of cowboy bebop for me, though it didn't make it less impressive, knowing what was going to happen did kind of spoil it.

The shoot-out, was only in the game...

Actually, in the game, they revive Big Daddy in the end...just for a boss battle...

The series improves on the game in every way...

I believe that they kill each other (and that's what i'm still thinking) but i don't understand why Mika runs so desperately and then she stops, i was like "wtf, he didn't die or what?" so it kinda make me doubt, and that final scene, when they were childs...so feeling. Did you realize that after that scene, it heards Mika's voice saying "welcome home"? what did that exactly means? Btw, this was a great anime, i recommend to all.

reply

Sorry but you should've seen that one coming. The creators ALWAYS go to another view and then come back when the stand off is over. It happened with Bunji vs Brandon and it happened a couple of times before that one, but for me this was the biggest WHY DID YOU DO THAT FFS moment. Bunji was awesome, Brandon was okay, would've been a great scene.

reply

I almost cried too, and for the first time I think in anime history, a tv series actually has a perfect ending.

I had two questions though.

What happened to Bunji? He seemed to dissapear after the cat showed up and then later I think in the last episode you saw Bunji again in the eyes of the cat with the missing ear.

Does the gungrave overdose video game continue past the anime? I heard it did, but how could it if both Grave and Harry are dead?

Thanks

As far as the ending goes, it was so unlike what I expected it to be, It left me wanting something more after the episode was over. The begining was great with Brendon and Harry talking in the old Hideout, yet when they start to fight with the Organization and protect eachother, it just was way out of what I expected. The ending was good, sure, but to me it seemed offbeat with the way the rest of the series was.

I liked that you see all of the major characters(living or dead) say "Brandon" or "Harry"(some in different ways) at the end. That was extremely sad, considering what happened to most of them.

I liked how they killed one another with each other's guns at the end. Brandon had Harry's, and Harry had Brandon's.

Yeah I do remember Mika saying Welcome Back at the end. I didnt think Brandon died because I was going by the story of the second game Overdose. Mika brings him back to live or something like that. And also, the ending of Gungrave hit me in the heart hard. It stuck with me for a while. But didnt the whole series do that? Alot of friends and people died in Gungrave.

The anime series has little or nothing to do with the game series.
So you can't compare their stories.

Still, it's one of the best and heart wrenching endings in anime. While it makes you feel sad, there is a small glimmer of hope.

The games are much different from the anime. In the games, Grave doesn't die. He gets his revenge and moves on, which allows for Gungrave Overdose to take place. I did like the anime a lot, although I can't decide if I would rather had Grave take his revenge in the end.

Actually I think it was Maria saying "Welcome Back" at the end because Brandon was dead before and since he only had 10 days to live from the time Dr. Tokyoka died. Therefore there was no way for Brandon to continue living. But that's what I believe because it makes sense to me the ending was perfect but I would like to know for sure whether he died or not. Same goes for Harry did he die?

The ending was *beep*' perfect. I just finished watching it today, actually. "I couldn't kill my best friend". Wow.

In the subtitled version Brandon says "It's impossible for me to kill you". Which I think is a little better since it's not so explicit.
