Anyone else notice? (Xica-related)

The actor who plays Andre on "Isaura" (the muy guapo mulatto ex-slave who loves Isaura) was also on "Xica"? [He played Jose Maria's manservant and secret love interest]. Nice to see a familiar face as a kind of bridge between the two shows.

Actually, when I caught this for the first time and heard a mention of the province "Kilombo" (spelling?), I thought "Isaura" really was some kind of literal continuation of "Xica."

Lastly, anyone else thing Xica's father looks a whole lot like American tough-guy actor Charles Bronson? (Just a little friendlier). Maybe it's just the haircut...

Yes I did. Deo Garcez (Andres) is one talented actor, and I'm very proud of the humanitarian work that he does as well.

Actually some of the actors from 'Xica' have crossed over to Record (the company, the sixth one that is, that filmed this version of 'La Esclava Isaura'.), probably in the hopes of furthering their careers.

As for Isaura's dad, actor and singer Jackson Antunes (something tells me that's actually him doing the singing in this novela.), he really does look like Charles Bronson and could very probably play him if he were ever asked.

actually a "kilombo" actually spelled "quilombo" is just a refuge site for slaves. there were many in Brazil (as well as any other country that had slavery). I think one of the biggest ones was in Palmares, Brasil.
