Actress Chica Lopes dies at age 90 in Sao Carlos, SP

The Chica Lopes actress, who starred in soap operas such as "We were Six", "Slave Isaura" and "Êta World Good", died aged 90 last September 11 in São Carlos (SP). Francisca Lopes was born in 1925 and started em1950 acting career in the theater, when it began to be called Chica Lopes. In 1970 he debuted on TV Tupi of São Paulo and began in small roles in soap operas such as "The Judgment," "We were Six", "Fire Wheel" and "The Right to Be Born."

She gained prominence when interpreting the Durvalina character of "We were Six". In 1994, SBT made a remake of the novel and Chica Lopes was called for the same role. In the same station starred in "Blood of My Blood" (1995), "The Baron's Bones" (1997), "Pícara Sonhadora" (2001), "Marisol" (2002), "You never will forget" (2003).
In 2004, for the Rede Record, where he appeared in "The Slave Isaura". In 2006 he returned to the SBT to participate in the soap opera "Crystal".

On 25 November 2005, he received the Award Zumbi dos Palmares, in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo. During the week of Black Culture, it was considered one of the main representatives of the race on Brazilian television.

His last novel was "Êta Good World" this year on TV Globo, where he made an appearance.
