The music was improvised so you won't find it elsewhere. Some of the same recordings, at greater length, were used in Herzog's film "The Wild Blue Yonder."

"REQUIEM FOR A DYING PLANET" FIND IT ON AMAZON. WILL BE PUBLISHED IN A MONTH OR SO. REIJSEGER IS WORKING WITH A CHOIR FROM SICILY. I think DIETRICH HENSCHEL IS ALSO INVLOVED WITH THE PIECE.

def. something that I will look into. I loved the soundtrack

reply

Yeah, not sure about the cello piece, but a lot of the other music comes from traditional singers on Sardinia. A great place to look, if you are interested, is in Bernard Lortat-Jacob's Sardinian Chronicles. Its a great work in ethnomusicology, and includes a CD with a lot of the music.

I'm somewhat of an amateur ethnomusicologist, intrested in overtone singing styles, anybody here knows the names of some of the vocalists heared in the soundtrack? I'm definetly gonna check out those Sardinian Chronicles mentioned before, any other suggestions are always welcome.
