The wig?

Was that totally necessary? I dont know, it just seemed a little hokey, I guess.

Oh yeah, did Kyle die somewhere that I missed? I dont think I saw him at the end and when Morgan looks at the Bible directly after the climax, she says "Kyle gave that to me" in kind of a sad voice. Could have been she was just shook up, or he was alive and well and I am a moron. If anyone could shed some light, Id appreciate it.

Insider knowledge sez that because Furlong had shaved his head for the movie before this one, and the makers didn't want a skin head messiah, a wig was chosen. This wig came off in the last scene for two reasons...just maybe the wig looked a molicule fake throughout and by taking it off it resolved that issue. And if furlong was putting on a character by being a preacher, he changed back to his true self at end.

Kyle survived and was in the last scene at cemetery.

All I know is that the wig was distracting. It was one of those dense ones that have about 3 times as much as hair per inch as a real person's scalp grown hair. Plus it was so luscious and shiny like a shampoo commercial. Exactly the kind of hair a guy living rough in a deserted cabin and barn would have.

At first, I thought he had it on to rock the "Jesus" look. But I agree it could have been like a mask, to hide his true identity.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

It has been a long time since i read it, so someone correct me if i am wrong, but i think the character was supposed to be wearing a wig and it was just another sign that everthing about him was a phony pretense as Brandon was trying to be a better Jesus.
