Informative and Involving

I'm glad I saw this documentary. Each of the pricipals in the film brought a unique perspective to the unit. Si Lewen, the artist, was especially intense, luminous and enlightening. I think that this is possibly because as an artist he felt the war more than most, or could at least express it through his retelling and his art.

I have to say I found the surging, emotion-inducing music somewhat sickening. At this point do we still have to "wring the tears" for our "heros?" I'm positive that many of them are humble and wise enough not to want that. Let these men's words and deeds speak for themselves. By their retelling, war is an ultimately wasteful and pointless act, as all who participate always make clear.
