Yes, loosely based.
The film didn't have the budget to make it a proper period piece. At first they were going to have the film set in modern times but with a 70's style but after the first couple days of shooting that seemed to have changed.

It is really that good? (or are you just a Buffy fan like many people commenting on it are).
I worked on the film here in Toronto and I didn't think it would turn out that great. Sometimes you are pleasantly surprised and other times you think it is gonna be great and it stinks.
All I know is that my pay cheque was very small and they were too cheap to pay for over-time, lol.

shareHey Phin1. Well, you'll be happy to know that it WILL air in Australia and soon. Sony International Distributors have the rights and will be selling it market by market over the next 18 months. I don't know exactly when it will appear in Australia or on what network -- but it will air. I hope you enjoy it...
