Deja-vu?

I just watched this movie last night, and I was thinking that his ability to see about 2 minutes into the future reminded me of the deja-vu feeling that many people experience. I have had times when I've had a deja-vu feeling, like I've done something before even though I haven't. A few times, I've also had a strong feeling about what was going to happen in the next moment, and then it actually happened. I wondered if that was the inspiration behind this movie.

No, the movie was based on a Philip K. Dick short story about mutants.

I actually thought this thread was about Deja Vu (2006), which came out 1 year before Next (2007). Very similar story, even down to the musical score.
