Pretty damn good.

I tentatively considered renting this as a standard straight to video time killer. When I read on the back of the DVD that Dolph Lundgren himself was directing, I became intrigued as to how he would portray himself when he was calling the shots and how he would do as a director. I must say, I was impressed with the result. I actually think this one was silver screen quality. It's no Die Hard, but it ranks pretty well among typical action films.

Of course, it probably wouldn't have done well in the box office, even with the proper distribution and advertising capabilities. The film trailer makes it look like a standard Steven Seagal vehicle with Dolph Lundgren in the driver's seat and critics would have probably labeled it an average, possibly even cliche, action flick and attempt by Lundgren to recapture that spotlight he was never fully centered in.

Honestly, this was better than some, if not most, of his films which actually saw the silver screen. He-Man? Triathlon? Johnny Mnemonic? He might not be the most versatile actor, but there's no reason he couldn't have been in higher quality films than what he was. I don't know if he has a bad personality or not, but it looks to me like a weak screenplay has been the bane of his career.

It was good and entertaining as an action movie, but don't expect anything too realistic.
Like if you drive around in the downtown of St. Petersburg with your guns blazing, you're pretty sure to get either stuck in traffic and/or get special forces on your ass.
