the absence of teachers for a long period of time is not out of the ordinary @ school. One of my friends just got raped in the gym during school, while we hav 4 gym teachers who were SUPPOSED to be down there!
sharei remember when i was in school there were few teachers who was always late.
some because they had to walk long way to get to the class.
my gym teacher was always late and sometimes never came. and when he did many times it was "take a ball and play" when he drinks coffee.
i wouldnt be surpised if a teach is late to class. maybe the kids knew the teacher would be late like always.
At that age kids aren't supervised all the time...probably should be, especially kids like that, but that's how it goes. The teachers are probably off having a nervous breakdown somewhere because of teaching these horrible kids :s

I think it was this meant to be done, that the adults in this film are either useless or corrupt (Trife's Uncle). But it also shows that the kids in the school have more power than the adults, for example when the teacher tells Trife to hurry up. Trife gives him an evil look and the teacher clearly starts to avoid him by turning his head and telling others to get back into the school. It shows that the teacher is scared of Trife and also represents the school kids dominants of the teachers.

i used to skive a lot, like 6 times a week i would walk home...and it took me 2 months to get caught cause no one reported me lmao. teachers suck (apart from one teacher who let me steal a computer mouse but he was a legend)

shareI went to school in the UK in the 80´s...........where were the Teachers in the Classroom when......I was getting regularly used for Karate practice as in Rounhouse kicks to the chest....I was strangleholding some massive Neanderthal as we smashed around the room....regularly being loudly verbaly abused.....all with many spectators/actors.........etc.,etc. ..............???????????
I hated school and became a Dropout. My choice.
My point: supervision was always lax.
Here is the typical public school
All the big dumb kids who are on drugs, possibly in sports, or just appeal socially in some way stick together.... and make all the smart kids lives a living hell.
I can't speak for everyone I guess, but all the "cool" kids in my high school are dying in a ditch somewhere now on heroin.... the girls and the guys
