When you're really good at what you do...
the audience will find you. That's what I did with Katiebird. First off, I truly enjoyed it. On IMDB, I voted 8/10. My wife couldn't finish watching it. She doesn't do eye-gore.
My two-cents: Good movie. Exposition too long. Second half much better than first half. I liked the fingerstyle guitar on the score. I thought the acting and writing were on par with other movies of this caliber. Make-up and special effects were extremely well done. The comic-book look was really annoying for a long time. I understand (as others have said) watching different viewpoints during action (or torture...) but watching a conversation in window-panes was really distracting to my wife and me.
DVD extras are pretty sweet. I enjoyed the commentary and the make-up vignette. I'm sort of done with the philosophising serial killer, though. It's been done much better. Seven, Silence of the Lambs, American Psycho, Saw. I hope Katiebird II has something nice and original to it. I'd like to see slightly more gore and a little nudity (because I'm a guy and I like that sort of thing), and less weird dialogue between dad and daughter.
p.s. It's pretty sweet that the filmmakers are actually on here discussing the movie with the peons. I wonder the last time Spielberg posted about Schindler's List.
