Movie makes less sense than inception

I don't believe that the man's sister would invite as a bridesmaid, a woman who had walked out on her brother's marriage about 10 years ago. And if in fact it was so easy for his sister to contact her, why hadn't he for all these years. I mean the movie shows that he tried, but running around new york, tugging at brunettes doesn't seem like an efficient way.
