CHEESY DIALOGUE, INACCURATE DETAILS!

First let's start with the US Naval officer at Santiago Observation
station. When I glanced at his rank insignia on the shirt collar
he wore what appeared to be a gold star and at second glance
I noticed it should have been a gold oakleaf. Which would
indicate the rank of O-4/Lt. Commander. The khaki working
uniform was correct though the rank insignia should have
been a gold oakleaf and not a large gold star on collar!
And in one scene when two of the Navy Seals and their commander
were deciding how to kill the chupacabra they went off in
pursuit of the creature and one of the men said in what was
supposed to sound macho "lets get some" and how very lame,
cheesy and stupid was this one line of dialogue! Also the
commander of the Seals looked too overweight to be a member
of any special forces team! He was probably a bit part
actor who needed the work and the budget for the movie
was very limited. We are talking about SyFy Channel
original movies after all. And the helmets worn by the Seals
looked like painted over bicycle helmets and instead of
wearing proper Navy Seal issue boots the guys wore what
appeared to be cheap looking black footwear. And why did
automatic weapon fire not even cause the monster to flinch
or even slow down? I recall it bled green blood, why?!
Now I am just nitpicking though I could not help pointing
out these obvious errors and cheesy dialogue. And being a
navy veteran myself I also noticed inaccuracies in
detail like I have already mentioned. Anyone else have
feedback? Overall the movie was just cheesy and a good
way to pass two hours on a Sunday which is how I spent
part of today watching it on SyFy Channel.

How can it be innacurate when the Chupacabra exists!

read the post.

he was joking...

If the OP was referring to the officer who answered the phone, he identified himself as Admiral so and so. The one gold star would make him a Rear Admiral. From another former sailor.

Thanks highwaystar from one sailor to another. Yes I stand corrected on
my original post. I had forgotten that the officer was an admiral
and not a naval commander. And yes the gold star would make him the
rank of admiral lower half.
