Things Not properly explained in the show

Even though the show only lasted 13 episodes, there are a bunch of things that show up once and are never mentioned again:
=Duke, the Kramers' dog- in the first episode, it growls at Christina, and Dr. Kramer puts him outside. Next episode, Christina is outside, the house and (with her powers) cuts him, not enough to kill him. After that incident, Duke never is mentioned (i.e. mention of him missing or lost dog flyers) or seen again
=Judy's job- you see her working in the first few minutes of the pilot. In the second episode, Dr. Kramer mentions she goes in. In Last Dance, she mentions the prize money is 2 months' pay, but she doesn't go back to work (at least in the show--maybe the writers just didn't find it important)
=Christina's Wardrobe- when she is pulled from the sea, she is wearing some clothes, but they're soaked; the Kramers just happen to have a night gown that fits her. Next morning, she suddenly has an outfit--stores in a small town like Point Pleasant don't exactly open early and stay open later, and they never say anything about her being the same size as anyone else (Judy, Isabelle, or Meg). After that, Christina's dad (well, not her real dad) comes and tells her she's not going to worry about money.

Anybody else find any inconsistencies? I'm only on episode 2 (after rewatching the series on DVD)

Yeah, the one that really did annoy me was the clothes issue. At first i just thought she could have borrowed Judy's (or even Isabelle's) clothes in the opening eps. But there is no mention of her being sent a suitcase or possesions (other than the bag she had) in future episodes.

So, where exactly are the inconsistencies? You're just mentioning things that were never explained. An inconsistency is something that happens which contradicts something that happened in the past.

Good point. I fixed the title of the thread

Another thing that bothered me was the whole "where did she come from" thing. Christina said there was an accident on the boat her and her school were on, yet later in the series Judy and Jesse can't find any proof of her going there.

That was one thing that's always bugged me. I wouldn't call it an inconsistency, just something that would have been explained eventually had the show not been canceled.

Firstly, in the pilot's opening shot we have a fairly wide view of the ocean and there's nothing there at all...it looks like Christina falls from the sky...which I know is not the case but if she fell overboard shouldn't there be a shadow or something? And if she did fall overboard wouldn't people realize she was missing and launch some sort of search for her? How long was she in the water before Jesse spotted her?

Since Christina had a school ID I personally like to assume that the people who worked for the devil erased records of her elsewhere for some reason.

This explanation JUST popped into my head but I don't like it and I hope it's not what the writers were intending, but I guess it's possible Christina was planted there and given all that as a backstory, but if that was the case, did she have fake memories of the school and the cruise or was she lying about everything?

As with many other things in the show, i bet they would have been closed tight with a pretty bow, and even be used to develop even BIGGER things.
Then again, unless they pull a "Buffy season 8", we will never know.
Well, at least we had one awesome season of it...and for now, a series that for once, ends badly! (Honestly, if they had not shown the Kramers going after her, it would have closed kind of full circle!)

Not sure if this is what the writers were going for, but:

Wonderful connection and I have a feeling Christina was implanted, there was a past but the minions of the devil or the devil himself erased it. After all this was all meant to be her awakening thus there was a need to be able to insinuate her into this small town. What better way than to take everything away from her so that she has nowhere or nothing else to return to? Much like they did with her mother and killing her own parents.

You need to watch the pilot again. When she is shown falling into the water at the beginning you can see a big oblong shadow next to her in the water. When Jesse rescues her, there is a red backpack around her shoulder. It is also shown again, later in the episode, when Christina is going through her things. She had clothes.....obviously just not a dry nightgown to wear to bed.

One thing that I thought was really weird was the fact that Terry/Jessie get into a fight, and then in the next episode they are back to being friends like nothing ever happened. The way the fight came off made it seem like it was pointing towards a serious falling out like they were done with each other. Then it was kind of just skipped over and never brought up again.

Just seemed like typical adolescent behavior to me. *shrug*

The fight between Terry and Jessie was caused by Christina. Yes, in the next episode things were as if it didn't happen but as the series progressed their relationship deteriorated.
