So what i understood he was like a decipel of satan who collect souls for Hell?

P.s. Can someone tell me how the alternate ending was?
his job was to use his powers to persuade people to 'sin' so their souls would go to hell. he'd 'whisper' into the minds of vulnerable people and use their weaknesses, fears and guilt against them to convince them that they had to kill
apparently the alternative ending involved the kid being rescued by cops after the wolves killed the last kidnapper but I haven't seen it
