Would you like it remade in the USA?

Hey folks, I was just wondering if you would like this movie remade in the USA [or Canada - not to miss anyone out up there! xx]. If so, who would you like to see in the main roles?

As there was a musician subplot, I would like an actress/popstar to be one of the stars so she could belt out a couple of songs during the movie with the actor who plays the musician/secret agent...

...I would say maybe Duff more than Lohan at this time...but maybe an Urban remake could be cool?

I don't think that a remake would work well here in the USA unless the producers market it towards the Spy Kids demographic, and if that's the case, they'd probably have to tone the fighting down to something equivalent to a Power Rangers episode.

The majority of movie buffs in the west don't like cute. The only time that cute seems to be acceptable (when not necessarily meant for children) is when it's imported from another country. ;)
I agree with the previous poster that it should be imported to American theaters intact (though I can imagine Natalie (Gillian Chung)'s nightmare scene being cut short for a PG or PG-13 rating)...

And NO URBAN REMAKES! Haha... I can imagine it now: a Joel Silver produced movie directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak... Okay, I'd better stop before someone thinks I'm serious... :-P

I'm agree with videojames. Film like this wouldn't work in the states without the asian context (Family ties, respect for the elders, etc.).
Besides why do you want to see a dumbed down version made in Hollywood instead of this beautiful HK film?

they should do remake with jean claude van damn and paris hilton :)

anyway its a great movie, funny sibling fights... its actually quite funny a lot of the time :)

IMO, I don't think any other actress then Gillian Chung playing that role could've carried out the same appeal of the movie...'americanising' it would only spoil it.

i never want to see any movie remade. remakes are a complete waste of time.
any besides the matrix, non-asians doing kung fu is kind of ugly. and the movie would be a whole lot weirder if it was a north american thing. (plus, you couldn't have the awesome 'white kid' role! then the role would just be 'kid.')

the most ignorant thing i've ever read. you obviously have not scene alot of people doing kung fu for you to say non asains look bad doing it.

Never say never. As good as The Thing From Another World is, the remake The Thing is 100 times better.

Cape Fear and The Fly were very worthy remakes too.

What's the point? Other than not having to read the subtitles? That just seems a bit stupid and unneccessary to me.

Absolutely not.

considering that this movie was already a remake of spy kids what would be the point.
