Abnormal Beauty...

Kind of sums it up doesn't it...That scene on the balcony, I don't think I've seen anything quite like that before, the concept and the music at that time are amazing...The imagery, all the way through the film is astounding, reminds me of Janghwa, Hongreon...Not quite as good as though, because unfortunately, the ending lets it down somewhat..Shame...

wow, i thought i was the only one mesmerized by the balcony scene. It was brilliant, to say the least... But yes, no matter how beautiful the movie was, the ending didn't quite live up to the viewers expectations.

Twas quite a shame methinks...The last quarter, I mean...I simply cannot fault the first 3/4 though...I was, I suppose, mesmerised, so much, by the initial story, that it completely blew away the latter part...A simply amazing piece of cinema, regardless...Definitely up there with A Tale Of Two Sisters and Jacobs Ladder as one of the best films of my history, for me anyways...

yes, it was amazingly beautiful. i love the scene when jin and jas are taking pictures in the beginning. those trees were so beautiful and green and rich. and i thought the scene when jin was sitting on the couch around the time her mom left was gorgeous. something about the green apples against the black and white background just looked great. the balcony scene was mesmerizing too. i agree. tho whole thing was beautifully shot.

a tale of two sisters? oh my god. it is the most visually stunning film i've ever seen. no hyperbole. it was brilliant. i've never seen a more beautifully shot film.

i said "beautiful" a lot.

*How can it be that I..didn’t exist before...and...someday I...will no longer be who I am?

The imagery was very nice indeed. Not as good as Janghwa truly is though.

Abnormal Beauty was the first Chinese movie I have seen other than half of Shaulin Soccer, I think is the name...and I was completely shocked. This was a beautiful film...very "abnormal" indeed...and I agree about the balcony scene! I did NOT see that coming in the slightest. The adrenaline, the shock...I mean, WOW. The whole film is gorgeous and breath-taking up until the plot took a weird, irrelevant turn for the worse, but because the movie was initially impactive I didn't mind the ending. It had a "Suicide Club" feel to it...(anyone seen that movie?)...where the plot is just so strange and out there that it takes quite a few watches to decipher the message.
