Which character is the funniest?

I think the funniest has got to be Kahraman. His face always turns red from his anger. Memik is the second funniest. He is always so grouchy and stubborn. Especially when he decleared war on the Greeks! Efthalia is great too as his opposition. They are carbon copies of each other. And the best is when they soften up on one another. Rusen looks so funny when he becomes happy and starts dancing.

I am Greek by the way, and although I don't know what Turks are really like, I can say that Kahraman and Memik in particular are very much like Greeks. Kahraman the father that always shouts and forbids everything and Memik the stubborn old man who thinks like 100 years ago.

It is my favourite show on television. Can't wait for season 3 to start in October.

Turks and Greeks are so much alike, so why is there still prejudice amongst us?

I'm Turkish and I've been in Greece, I have many Greek friends, and I DO KNOW what Greeks are like. So, you have a point, filakia. We're all the same, and we have the best food in the world. I try to refrain from eating anything not cooked by someone Turkish or Greek!

In fact, there is no prejudice between "us". Rather, there are dirty games played by the dirty politicans, and clapped by their dirty henchmen. Luckily though, the tension is lowering by the day. I didn't perceive any hostility against myself in Greece, and I don't presume any against a Greek in Turkey. Just the opposite, people would get interested, and find it "cute" that a Greek chooses to visit Turkey. The prejudice is obviously harder to get over with than the tension, but hopefully it will also diminish in time.

As for the series, I think the cast is flawless overall. But as far as a competition for being the funniest goes, I'd vote for Nazire, Nazli's sister. There is no instance that her role is meant to be funny and fails to adhere to its purpose. The silver medal is shared by Memik and Rusen, and the bronze goes to Efthalia and Kahraman.
