Fawlty Towers

I only watched the first 5-6 shows and had to stop as they all had strong themes totally and completely stolen from Fawlty Towers (not a bad place to steal from mind you!!!!!!!!!). I can't believe they didn't get sued...

The truth is too simple for anyone to understand.

Watch Fawlty towers (all episodes), then watch Klown. If you can't see how they stole all the ideas BLATANTLY, then consult your local physician. Please.

Yeah, I know!
I mean I couldn't imagine anyone other than Manuel passing out from heroin because Fawlty was too scared to do it! Watching that happen on Klovn really made me lose all respect for the writers. I can't believe how they've blatantly ripped off such a comedy classic.
And I haven't seen all 6 seasons but I'm sure HILARITY will ensue when Frank gets a pet rat named Frank who will run amok, no doubt ;-)

Just because something is funny doesn't make it automatically stolen. Last time I checked, Fawlty Towers wasn't the first show that got humans to laugh. While I will admit this show borrows greatly from Curb (general premise, documentary style, music, etc) It's by far one of the funniest shows I've ever seen and in my opinion can be funnier Curb at times. And bear in mind that's with me not knowing any Danish pop culture which I know is sprinkled in there.

Do you have any examples where Klovn is similar to Fawlty Towers? I can't think of any but its been a while since I watched Fawlty.

Klovn is obviously a copy of Curb Your Enthusiasm for a younger audience with lots of innuendos and sexual references.

Well again if you watch both it becomes obvious. Here is one: And yes I chose one that involves Manuel. In Fawlty Towers. John Cleese tells Manuel that he "knows nothing", then when he needs him to say that he does know it, Manuel of course says "I know nothing" and John Cleese tries without luck to explain to him that now he needs to tell that he does indeed know. Klovn does the same in one of the episodes (but doesn't reach 10% of FT's level). This is one of many many many, many, many.
