but Destiny still had one of the worst endings I have ever seen in any type of Media.
That's for sure. This should have been Shinn's show, not Kira's. Fukuda and Morosawa should have kept Kira's role to a bare minimum like Tomino did with Amuro Rey in Zeta Gundam. I wish there had been a scene where Shinn had injured Kira much more severely when he destroys the Freedom, telling him that he killed his family. Of course Orga could have been the one that killed his family, but the fact that they never made that clear was definitely one of the finer moments in this show. As Kira is recovering from the injuries he occurs, he uses what little strength he has to apologize to Shinn and explain what happened. Kira and Athrun then tell Shinn all about how they tried to kill each other after the deaths of Nicol and Tolle and reiterate what Miriallia said about how killing those who took loved ones away from you won't bring them back. And Shinn forgives Kira and apologizes for injuring him. And that's that. From there, he and the rest of the Minerva crew eventually save the day. Maybe with a little help from Athrun.
