Lacus Clyne is a very brilliant person.
Okay the three ship alliance might be made out of desperation to end the war but her brilliance shined after SEED. With the post war re-construction crap and the Jess Rabble hi jinks going on. She created Terminal to amass a huge army. Heck, she probably manipulated Mathis Adukarf to manipulate the Zala Extremists to drop Junius seven on Earth. With the second war in full blown, she let her Terminal organization handle all of the information gathering. With the right intelligence she let Chairman CHARandal "attempt" an assassination on her. At the latter stages of the war, with both sides at each others throat...she swooped in and let Kira and Athrun do their mad HAXX0R Gundam skillz. I mean c'mon not even a scratch on the Freedom. Intervening the war in the name of peace she let her Terminal group dissolved within the ZAFT council...allowing her to become the new Chairwoman. Also with LOGOS gone...ORB might be the new big name forces on Earth. So it's an awesome victory for the pink songstress. Now she controls the PLANTS and have Cagalli control Earth...in the name of peace. And I'm sure the upcoming movie is going to be about her and Kira Yamato punishing the sinners of the Cosmic Era with Kira's new Gundam...the Hi Nu Freedom Double X Strike. It's going to be Kunio Okawara's best work I tell ya.
*Sigh* Where's Diana Soriel when you need her. *Goes off and watches Turn A Gundam*
