Yeah at she dies in the anime and lives in the manga. When I was reading the manga (since I read it afterwards), I had just assumed that Satella died, but lo and behold she's alive in the epilogue. So the final attack she does was quite different in the manga than the spear in the anime.
But I did cry when she died. Heck I cried when I watched the last 3 episodes, turned into a blubbering idiot.
