I have just finished teh series in english and there was a part of it I was unsure about.

When Chrono wakes up by Mary Magadaeline(sp) and she says that he is in love with Rosette and that he wants to protect her. He says "Yes, I want to protect her so much that it covers your part of my heart" and in subtiles it says "To cover your share"

What did he mean by this?

Did he mean that he was protecting Rosette, to make amends to Mary Magdaeline?

Or because he wanted to protect Rosette so much that it was taking over his heart because he loved her?

I know this might be a stupid question and the answers probably obvious, I watched this ep really late at night so my head was cloudy. But did Chrono see Rosette as Mary Magdaeline or did he see her as Rosette.

It means the love he had for Mary was replaced with his love for Rosette. That Rosette took Mary's share of his heart and it only has room for Rosette now.

It was Chrono's declaration of love, essentially.

I totally agree, I just wanted to be sure, I got a bit confused cause there is so many ways you can look at it, like in english it said "covers that part of my heart" then in two different subtitled versions I saw it says "to cover your share" and "for your sake"

No problem. It's easy to get confused. A lot of the time dubbers take the sentences and make them so that they are easier to understand in English instead of the literal Japanese translations.

thanks, I totally agree, that's why if the dubs are good, I watch them to get the full grasp. That 'for your sake' sort of threw me off as I thought like what you said, but that line just made me a bit confused. You really helped me out.
