Chrono Crusade Is just too Friggin (spoilers)

I just finished watching this series and the ending is just TOO DAMN SAD!! It kills me how much emotion this anime has gotten out of me from hate to love to extreme depression and sadness. The ending was just like a knife in the heart.

I just finished this show last night and god this has to be the saddest anime EVER! I cried my eyes out, I seriously could not stop crying. I think I was still crying like 10 minutes after it ended. I mean, the ending makes sense, it's really the only way it could have ended and I kind of predicted it would happen, but still! lol, I think I was crying during all of the last 3 episodes, though mainly the last one. It really is an amazing anime though, I'd definitely rank it in my top favorites and I would recommend it, just...if anyone wants to watch it make sure you have your tissues!

I just finished watching the series...I didn't want it to end that way, but like you and those that have replied said there was no other way to end the series...but in a way its happy, they went out together...it would have been worse if chrono would of survived for me personally. There together in after life so thats good. I felt really bad for azmaria she was left all alone....The very ending when remington was at the vatican and saw ion ( however you spell his name), that made me so angry all for nothing it seemed like....what do all of you think it meant...Does it mean there is another battle or was he just trying to bring about the 3rd prophacey (sp).....

I was expecting more of a final battle between Chrno and Aion. It was way too short, one slash in the head and tada he's done. I mean really, Aion in the anime is like this great evil, and he doesn't even get over a minute of a fight?!

As for the ending, I cried so badly when I watched the last 3 episodes in order. It started off with the sniffles when Satella died, then full out tears for Rosette and Chrno. And in the final episode when Joshua was telling Remmingtion about the story he was coming up with.

I knew the ending wasn't going to be happy, but it still hit me like a ton of bricks.

Well I know that we all were a little upset with Ion being alive, but if you think about it, it makes sense. Now, this is just my opinion, but I feel that Ion is pretty much the epitome of the Real Devil, Lucifer, whatever else you wanna call that guy. Just as God is always there, so is he, and that's how the balance of the world stays as it is. Even though you can kill him, he'll always come back because just as the series says, there is greed, hate, and all the bad things in the world that fuels Ion.

Still though, not sayin that it makes it any better cuz that still really sucks.

Just like you, I do wish there was some more sentimental stuff between Chrono and Rossette, but what can you do. We all knew there was always something there just based on watching the characters develop on the show. I'm sad that it's all over.

Chrono Crusade = sad, yet beautiful story.

Tell me about it I finished watching it as well and I bawled my eyes out. No anime has ever done that for me but this one did.

I also liked the fact it had some truth to it. Makes me wonder if the world is really coming to that prophecy with all the violence in the world these days.

oh... now I don't want to watch the end... everybody says it's just too sad, and I can't handle sad things...
But I have still some more episodes to go.

It truely was a sad ending. I know that it was already well established that Rosette and Chrono's lives were significantly shortened by the contract, but it didn't make it any easier to watch. I think this was the first anime that I watched that caused me to cry, didn't bawl out but I did shed tears. I was guess I was just hoping against hope that somehow they could have survived the "curse" of the time-piece. If the series ended with Azmaria at the grave I would have had closure. But to end with Remington (still couldn't believe he's an angel) seeing Aeon still alive at the Vatican...it just left me with a WTF feeling. Aeon is dead why is he still around? Just didn't make sense, even with someone else's suggestion that he can not be killed cause he is the ultimate source of evil doesn't add up in my opinion.

Awsome series, but I would have felt better if Chrono and Rosette would have told each other, just once, that they loved each other. I know their actions spoke it but I still wanted them to say it. Am I alone?

reply

No, you're not alone. I saw the last episodes yesterday and I really think it would have felt much better if they had said those three words to each other once before they died. They could have said it when they were sitting there, watching the sunset... that would have been such a great ending for such a great show.
I don't know what to think about Remington's meeting with Aion, but I think they could have skipped that part. It would have been better that way.

At least the manga ends with a less depressing feel. :(

SPOILERS

From what I've heard, Satella lives! So does Fiore. They are frozen and come back a few years later. Rosette and Chrono still die, from what I remember.
