I'm a newb On episode 66... I have a quick question.

Their is no romance in this show right? I don't want romance. I love all the characters as they are only as friends. I think it would ruin everything if Ichigo was with any of the girls. I like him as this naive virgin boy. I did hear that Ionue (spell) said she loved him to herself but I really hope the show sticks o being all about fighting and friendship.

Also do Ichigo and Yoruichi have a lot of funny moments in the show. I love their friendly banter and interaction. I also did read somewhere that the creator considered her his favorite character so I hope their is a lot of her i future episodes.

Let's see now... Ep. 66 is smack at the start of the now infamous Bount arc, the first, biggest (two full seasons) and most exhausting filler in the Bleach anime.

What you're asking is a bit of a spoiler, so you decide if you want to look at this: Ichigo doesn't end up with any of the girls the fans shipped him with, at least not to date. However, Orihime has a very obvious crush on him, which he totally ignores. Rukia and Ichigo are good friends and she is in fact Renji's official love interest, although they are not romantically involved either for the moment.

I can't really comment on how much interaction happens between Yoruichi sama (I call my cat that ) and Kurosaki kun, because I simply don't remember the Bount arc to such detail. As far as I remeber Ichigo and Yoruichi's last major interaction is during the Soul Society arc when she trains him to use Bankai.

Please don't confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them.

Don't worry too much. The Bount arc might be the longest, but it's pretty much the best filler arc. Possibly beaten by the zanpakuto arc.

Don't count on seeing Yoruichi that much. She'll turn up now and then, but her biggest role is still in the Soul Society arc.

WHHAAAT!!!! NO offense I get its your opinion but I have actually never heard(you know what I mean) anyone say that they liked the bount arc. I hated it. The only good episode was Kenpachi's fight. Just cause he was so badass in it. It was just not good... at all. But i guess it depends...

Oh thank you guys! As long as Ichigo is safe from these girls and keeps doing his thing.. I'm okay with it. I hope Orieme stays far away from Ichigo... I think she makes a perfect match for Ishida anyway..despite the fact that I don't want romance.

Rukia being Renji's official love interest?
Says who?
They don't really explore romance, but a lot of scenes could be seen as romantic.

reply

Seriously. Rukia is one of my favorite characters and I'd be oh so put out if she ends up with that scrub.

@OP Kubo said a while ago that he didn't want to focus on romance in his manga, but he puts it in here and there. I in particular liked how he handled Gin and Rangiku's story. Don't expect any closure on any of the "main" ships until the end of the manga.

Oh okay thanks... :)

While I really enjoyed how the relationship between the 2 characters is handled...i loved the Hisagsi fantasy ep. The outdoor bath scene hilarious!

I don't recall them ever officially putting a definition on the relationship between Gin and Rangiku. I can see them possibly being romantically interested, but most of what I saw just showed them as CLOSE friends, and most of that is shown from when they were younger. I may be forgetting something though. And as far as Gin's last scene.... maybe, but that could still be a close friend thing in my eyes.

When I say 'official love interest', it means the author has made it clear beyond any doubt that a particular character is romantically interested in another.

In a flashback Renji recalls right after he was promoted to vice-captain that he wanted to reconnect with Rukia, this time as her equal, only he wanted to wait until he officially got the job and by them Rukia had already been shipped to Karakura Town. That and their back story as kids in Rukongai backs this up.

I believe I've seen that episode and it didn't ring any relationship bells. Although whenever a girl is around and likes Ichigo that said girl always questions who Rukia is to Ichigo and feel threatened by Rukia. I've so far seen this happen twice once with Oriheme and Nel. I think I also remember the mod soul doing the same thing when both Ichigo and Rukia were talking. She saw or thought she saw they had feelings.

Guys, Kubo has said that he doesn't want to involve any love stories in bleach 'cause it would make it boring sometimes! I totally agree with that!

There's no real romance to speak of, though the last couple of chapters of the manga jump forward in time and show you who ended up with who, but you don't see any of the 'courting' or any of that sort of stuff.

I don't know where you've seen up to, but Yoruichi is involved pretty heavily in the Soul Society, Arrancar and Karakura arcs. Yoruichi also pops up every now again in various episodes, but she's kept fairly minimal throughout the Fullbring arc iirc. Yoruichi has a lot of awesome scenes in the Thousand Year Blood War arc as well, but that hasn't been animated, yet...
