How is your japanese? is it any good? what? you don't speak japanese? what? you just speak english? oh... I see...

Are you an idiot or something notthisisaknife? Wathcing it dubbed would destroy it entirely. A large part of the story relies on the fact that some characters can't speak english. Besides, they are supposed to have bad english, they are Japanese, its not their native language. It would be ridiculous if they suddenly spoke perfect english. Are the kind of jackass who goes up to immigrants and tells them to "learn to speak english"? I'm sorry if the Japanese accent offends you on some level. Are you capable of watching Jacky Chan films even? Would you prefer he was dubbed over by a native english speaker? Dubs are for the illiterate, the blind, and racists who laugh at the sound of foreign languages. Pick one.

The dub is really bad in my opinion. It ruins it. I'm actually not too much of a major fan of this anime (it's pretty good but not my favourite) but really the English dub just makes it more embarassing. Really bad choice of voice actors too, and, it kinda makes the whole thing seem more contrived and it comes off as a really bad promo for western music. Even though on many levels, it is a promo for westernization but...I digress. It doesn't have too much to do with this anime being interesting or not.

Agree it makes me want to bust out the guitar again, after years of not doing so.
I like the Engrish and Japanese version it just fits the Westernization theme of the anime better.

Not all dubs are bad:

Cowboy Bebop -legendary dub, possibly the best dub ever
Samurai Champloo- same people as Bebop and all-around solid dub

Baccano - this is of the only anime I would say the dub is better than the sub all the way, the dub puts unique accents on the characters that the sub can't

Trigun - the sub really irritated me, I tried several episodes on sub and eventually went dub cause the sub killed me.

Wolf's Rain - solid dub (many voices from the above shows), I have no idea how the sub sounds though.

Elfen Lied - not too bad, the sub is fine too though, this show is really equal for me dub or sub

Death Note - another that is good either way, but I love Ryuk's english dub voice way more than the japanese sub, but again this is up to preference as the english actors get the emotions down quite well.
