V For Vendetta graphic novel

The V that has been present throughout the story has been a destroyer, tearing down the old fascist world. However, there's no place for him in the new world he hopes to birth, and he passes the V identity on to Evie, allowing her to be the "V" the new world needs. In the same way, the film agrees (or seems to agree, it's a muddled film) that Tyler's plan to bring down civilization is "necessary", but that there's no place for Tyler in it. Right after Jack "kills" him, he confidently orders to Space Monkey's to leave him and Marla, and the implication is that, now free of Tyler, he and Marla can channel Project Mayhem into a positive force in the "new world" they're seeing birthed.
