Too many stories

I saw this film at the Sydney Mardi Gras film festival and really enjoyed it. The style of acting is often as in a farce or over the top but there are some really romantic or funny or dramatic scenes.

I think there were a few too many stories however, and too many couples. The film actress's son and the gardner's son were the weakest (both acting and plotwise). Strangely the story of their parents was (for me) the most interesting.

Definitely the mothers acted the sons off the screen.

So fun, bit too frenetic, somewhat farcical comedy.

AND it had Carmen Maura !!!!

Welll...technically, the film is based on an event in the lives of three couples, which I don't think is too many.

However, add the actress-gardner, police officer-judge, the hotelier-chef, the nympho Mom-any male with a pulse and you're right.

What I found confusing is how they kept messing with the timeline, flashing back and forth to show another storyline.

The only confusing thing was the timeline...it didn't make sense to do it that way...other than that a good film.

To me, the focus of this movie was the story of all of the parents dealing with the lives of their sons. The gay men were secondary to all of the parents. They were only there just to flesh out of the story of all of the parents.
