Tim McGraw was terrible!

I liked the movie. I like Tim Mcgraw... I love his music... but his acting in this movie was horrible. The man can't act his way out of a paper bag.

I couldn't agree more. He was better (but still not great) in Friday Night Lights. He was just terrible in this one.

reply

I thought he acted great in this movie.

**Bones: Objectively I'd say I'm very smart but it has nothing to do with my ass.**

he did fine...if he did so bad id like to see you try...at least there was some effort

who said who said?it wont go through the net?i say i say you aint seen nothing yet!

You know, I thought the same thing when I saw the movie for the first time, but I have since seen it several times over and over, and I like Tim McGraw a little better each time. I thought he did really well with this movie. The character was a strong one, and through his performance, he sent a good message about loving your family and instilling proper values in your children.

The film was a little syrupy at parts--I'll give it that. But some people happen to like that, and I'm one of them. If this is your type of movie, then chances are you'll appreciate Tim's performance. It was a different role for him, and something he was reluctant to do (as indicated in previous interviews), but I feel he did a great job with it. It's certainly something that he can be proud to show his own kids.

^word! I agree

People really need to get off Tim's back..he's getting a lot of flak for really what was some pretty dang decent acting...not everyone is Johnny Depp or de Niro

I don't usually like Tim McGraw (I only like a few of his songs) but I thought that his acting was particularly good. I disliked his character.

Sorry, if someone is going to be paid the amount of money that these actors are paid, then they SHOULD be as good as Depp or Deniro.

well, i kinda doubt that Tim was paid as much as depp or deniro would be for a film.. Tim is ok,with some people it depends on the role they play.. Tim was ok in this but to me he does a better job of playing a hard nosed beer drinking abusive father like in Friday Night Lights.. Dwight Yoakum is the same way, hes a super nice guy in person but plays a really good villian on screen..

Actually, I ADORE syrupy sappy movies. I loved the movie, didn't like his acting.

reply

Actually, I DO try. I act in community theater.

I think he did what most singers turned movie stars cant do and be a great actor too I loved his acting i thought it was great! I can't wait to see him in more movies like this!

I don't think he's gonna act that much anymore. I think he did the same thing that Toby keith did--do one movie just to see how they liked it, and then they'll jsut stick to singing.

But i hope they both do more movies. They are really good actors!

reply

I thought he was good in this, too.

reply

I agree with OP - although Tim has had other performances that he did quite well in.

This movie needed parents who looked old enough to have children the ages of the two kids. also, Tim McGraw was way too soft spoken for a tough rancher. all in all, terrible casting. No one gets any good marks from me.
My 80 year old mother who fell asleep in the middle during the mustang fiasco race/etc, thought it was good. Go figure.

Perhaps a 6 or 10 year old girl would like it.

Tim McGraw was way too soft spoken for a tough rancher. Mario Bello is a pretty good actress but obviously cannot deliver if everyone around her is mediocre.

all in all, terrible casting. No one gets any good marks from me. Virtually no one inspired any emotions from me. I wanted to feel sad when i was supposed to, but the movie was contrived. And is it anything like the book?

Perhaps a 6 or 10 year old girl would like it or 80 year old grandmas.

Yeah, he's not an actor.
And Maria Bello and Alison Lohman are too good for this kind of movie.

You know, the guy probably makes a million buck a minute that he's on the stage, and making movies is a hell of lot of hard work. There may be a little ego in his reasoning, but my guess is he made the film for daughters, for it's the sort of movie children would like.

Now if only I can figure out why his wife made Stepford Wives.

Both need to stick to making babies and music.
