Jenna's 'American' accent

Her accent was HORRIBLE! Her Australian accent would always come through, no matter when she was talking about. Especially when she was yelling...it was so annoying. Why couldn't they just have her play an Australian (which would make no sense, yes, I know) or get an American actress?

she was australian??? wow. not knowing beforehand, i can say it SOUNDED pretty decent, but now that i think about it, i guess she might have faultered a bit... :s

Are you serious? I thought it was excellent...if I didn't know before, it woulda fooled me.

reply

I didn't even know she was Australian until I watched the special features on the DVD. Totally convinced me as an American.

An object at rest cannot be stopped.

She was the Australian brat on Real World London.

ummm thats the point...she was a feminist and was saying a woman doesn't need a man basically

you can see this look on my face, and yet you're still talking...

reply

Hmm, maybe, but I gotta say I was more disturbed by Tom Wilkinson's even more terrible accent. Hers was at least bearable, his was simply agonizing to listen to...

yeah i also noticed her accent

Tom Wilkinson spent much of his childhood in Canada - maybe his American accent is Canadian?

I totally agree, it drove me nuts, it kept distracting me from the scene. If the parents had aussie accents, or if they had re-shot those scenes and she had managed not falling into it, then it would have been fine... but yeah that drove me nuts.

I had no idea who the actress was or where she was from and I couldn'te ven tell she was faking an American accent..I think she did pretty damn good

So agree. Her attempt at an American accent was weak. They really should have just caved and made her Australian. Would have been better than listening to her pathetic attempt to play American.
