This movie sucks huge balls

Yeah this was a piece of *beep* by a horrible director. I'd rather watch the original movie called "House of 1000 Corpses". BOO!!! I've had a better time being forced into the bathroom all night after eating at Taco Bell (seriously...it was more involving and scary).

I was going to see this, but something came up so I figured all these movies would be out on Dvd at a later time.

reply

i was going to reply to your utterly immature post, but something came up............d'oh.

I agree. This got to be one of the worst horror films ever made. The actors sucked, the script sucked, the directing sucked. Not even an inch of originality or campy fun. It had some nice and gory scenes, though, but that alone is not enough. I would say this almost qualifies to enter the league of Uwe Boll...just barely, though.

reply

"I'd rather watch the original movie called "House of 1000 Corpses"."

Yep, because House of a 1000 Corpses is very original....

reply

house of 100 corpses is a rob zombie film
and not the original to this one

the movie was not good and not bad, and in the league of uwe boll , his recent movies do suck but check up on some off his older movies there is some bareable stuff in there,
and this movie is not as stupendous as decoys now that one was bad.

Saying this movie sucks is saying Andrea Bogarts boobs are ugly. Those boobs alone make the movie worth my time and money.

Preach on!

House of 1,000 Corpses is considered a homage to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was based on true life events of Ed Gein. I liked how Zombie created the characters and the cheesy B-movie acting made it very cartoonish in a horror sort of way.

Dark Ride was a jumble of the TCM, House, The Devil's Rejects, Halloween and Funhouse. Are any of you old enough to have even seen Funhouse when it was released?

Horror movies aren't original. The more orignal they try to be with ideas, the worse the movies become. Just about everything's been put into a movie, but because it's "already been done" doesn't make it a bad movie. I liked the old fashioned horror Funhouse movie type of feel about Dark Ride. But then again, I am an old school horror movie fan, not the crap from the 90's through 2007.

I completely agree with you Dragulette. This movie had absolutely nothing in common with House of 1000 Corpses beside the fact that they are both Horror movies. This movie's plot was along the lines of Halloween and Black Xmas. Homicidal maniac kills in the beginning of the film. Gets locked up, escapes, goes back to his home(Dark Ride) and kills whomever happens to be in his home again. Simple yet classic and effective horror formula.

I too am a fan of old school horror movies, as well as Fun/Haunted Houses. This movie had both and delivered a great Horror experience. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone that's a fan of slasher movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th(Jason), etc.

to Seth

It's nice to "run into" fellow old-school horror fans. We're few and far between these days.

reply

i agree with Dragulette.
my favorite horror movies are the early 80's american slashers. Dark Ride did its best to evoke the Funhouse and others like it. I got a few laughs out of the movie trivia guy and the gore was plentiful and wet. I thought i would hate it, but at the end, while completely cliche and unoriginal, i was left entertained.

reply

I agree, Dragulette, it's nice to see 80's style slashers out there being made, of course we had to wait a few years after the release of Scream for all the Scream-clones to die out, now we're getting back to the way slasher films were made back in the 70's and 80's. Of course most of these are straight to DVD(seems it won't get released on the big screen unless it's an actual remake),but wading through some of the bad, I have come across some entertaining 'old school' slashers from the past few years.

Not only am I old enough to remember when The Funhouse was released, my sister took me to see it on the big screen.

Hey, this guy's not gonna leak all over my ice cream, is he?

"The more orignal they try to be with ideas, the worse the movies become."

Sorry Dragulette, but thats a really silly statement.

reply

Eh, whatever. I enjoyed it.

I liked it too. I love the old school slashers. Put some teens in an isolated setting and let the killer go to work. It makes for a bad movie, but I will watch it over and over.

My personal faves are The Burning and My Bloody Valentine.

reply

Totally agreed....LOVE the old school slasher films...they are just too fun....totally agree with you wyzardtales about The Burning and My Bloody Valentine...great movies!!

Are you gonna bark all day little doggy, or are you gonna bite?

"HUGE BALLS"
What was on your mind?
I know you didn't like the movie, I didn't like it either, but HUGE BALLS?
Were you hungry?

reply

I'd have to say this movie wasn't that great but it brought back some memories of old-school slashers, the bad acting and dialogue brought me back to the days of Jason. The killer was interesting but the movie was too cliche, I think anyone could have firgued out that the odd one of the bunch was the killers brother when he told that story. I've seen better and I've seen worse.
