goof

To start, I only watched this movie because I live in St. Louis. In fact, I live just a few blocks south of Downtown so it was cool to see local landmarks like the Soldier's Memorial. Had it been set anywhere else in the world, the premise would have turned me away.

Anyway, I'm sure it was full of goofs, but the one I noticed most blatently was when Judd Nelson's daughter was on her cell trying to reach him. Her mother was driving on an overpass, and the daughter said something to the effect of "nothing's working". Even though traffic was supposedly gridlocked, you could clearly see interstate traffic flowing just fine below them. Like I said, I'm sure it's just one of many.

Yeah I saw that too. Also I was confused by where the "black hole" started. If it indeed started at the "Quantum Laboratory" actually the Science center, it would have had to swallow the war memorial before swallowing the stadium or the arch.

Also, why did they go to the war memorial anyway? Was there a reason?

reply

also, after the arch is destroyed, you can see it in the background when Judd Nelson is driving the monster.

My favorite was the image of gridlocked traffic that is supposed to be in St. Louis but had Palm Trees next to the highway. I guess the black hole quickly changed St. Louis to a tropical climate

I saw lots of street lights on when the truck with the "sparking" generator was "carrying" the entity to the black hole. I had though all power had been shut off.

I found 3 goofs

No one noticed that the trailer Sharron went into to work had a huge yellow star on it? Usually used for actors on a movie set.

You can see the whole set in the glare of the hummer when it is drivin towards the alien and it is about to start the alarm.

During the scenes at the end St. L is supposed to be evacuated, yet In the far background I still saw traffic moving fine.

I spotted the biggest goof of all. The fact that the movie was made to begin with! Sorry Julia, it sucked but it was lots of laughs to watch with you. I hope you made one meeellion dollars.

someone said that you could tell the "experiment" to creature the black hole was actually a Windows Media Player Animation video.

The entire movie is a goof. Seriously, I'm fine with most sci fi movies, I can accept non-realistic premises as a method of driving a plot, but this one goes too far. A BLACK HOLE that moves across the surface of the earth?!?! Someone failed physics BADLY.

This movie really sucked. I watched it on fast forward only because I'm from St. Louis and I wanted to see the scenes filmed near my office. Even on fast forward the movie was ridiculous. The most obvious goof is after they destroy the Arch, Judd Nelson is driving down Market Street and you can clearly see the Arch in the background. Didn't anybody check the continuity on this thing?!

The film-makers should apologize for this piece of crap and promise that they'll never make another film again. That goes for you too, Judd Nelson!...Mr. Breakfast Club...."Clair! Answer the question Clair! Answer the question!"
