My idea for a 'Paranoia Agent' movie..

Keep Tsukiko Sagi, make her a world celebrity with her cute characters, especially Miromi, that she created, which would give her a good reason to travel around to America where she would get a better work space, (though to me I'd rather it be taking place in Japan but since most of the American audiences are ignorant masses that don't care for foreign places it won't appeal to them).

But have the rest of the characters become totally different like Matiwa and all them, I'd rather go all out original with it and make it into an anthology film where it all can link to Tsukiko. Still keep Miromi walking and talking because that's how we can connect with Tsukiko and her harsh past, and then have Lil' Slugger appear and attack everyone to cause the phenominon, again if the film can be panned out to 3 hours at least it would be a perfect film and be plenty enough to add up all the connections to the characters who're suffering from emotionally cornered edges of their lives.

In the end, it can either be the obvious and have Tsukiko turn out to be Lil' Slugger, or we have the ending like in the anime where she finally makes peace with her memories and everything returns to normal as if it never happened..and she finally creates her new character and calls it "Lil' Slugger", or maybe it can be a combination of both where she's about to harm her final victim but after an event before the scene happens she eventually tries to fight herself and Lil' Slugger within her and thinks her victim is Miromi and finally had made peace with herself and she could be coming out of rehab soon after with her new character finished. :P

Now the way this should be done with the new characters is that there should only be a total of 4 stories that connect them together, including the detective's wife and the old man, though they have to be done in a nice creative way that can last the timing for the film.

I know this isn't EXACTLY like the anime, but I thought it out and devised it in a way that it could possibly be doable, and I think it's better this way rather than trying to do it exactly like it because in America it's all about how you interest the general audience and there's only so few that are creative enough to be more socially involved with the material.

My dream cast and crew:

Director: David Lynch or Christopher Nolan (Inception, Memento)
Writer: David S. Goyer or Christopher and Johnathan Nolan

Cast

Anna Sawai as Tsukiko Sagi
(Any female voice) as Miromi (Of course she'll either be puppetized or CGI)

Not sure who could play Lil' Slugger, I don't think it should be an african american though, sure some of his qualities look a little like that but that can't be the overall approach, he's just a dark character.

What do you all think?

Bump.

No one likes this idea? I know it's not exactly like the show, but you have to understand that if there's a movie deal involved you KNOW there's going to be a lot of changes and things cut up in order to make one whole film, I doubt the whole world is constantly chanting with anime fans to ever make this so popular enough for it to deserve a trilogy, which I think is a great idea but you have to understand by how the film business works.

I just devised it in a way that it could be used well for one full anthology movie.

If it's the Japan thing, like I said I would give anything for the film to take place in Japan, but you have to understand the general audiences too and how they're going to be able to connect with it, anime and manga fans will embrace the notion of it being a Japan backdrop, but if there's no other anime or manga fans in the audience they won't have the same passion as we do for the material and probably won't pay money for it if they knew it was based off of a cartoon either.

Moving things to America and getting rid of the other characters don't sound like very good ideas.
But her turning out to be Lil' Slugger? I think that sounds promising.
