Does anyone use overhead view ?

I am still playing Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 online. I tried W.o.W. a couple of years ago for just a free trial and backed the camara up so it looked like warcraft 3 and diablo 2 and had some fun playing that way, but my computer really couldn't handle it back then so I stopped playing. Anyways im thinking about trying W.o.W. again but it looks like everyone plays in the first person or third person close up view. Why does everyone play like this and does anyone play the game like I use to ?

I didnt even know you could change it to the style of diablo :P

I play mine in 3rd person view, just find it easy that way.

i play third person way backed up. i find it easier to see around if there are any enemies coming from around you. i just hit the end key until my toon looks really small. plus it hurts my eyes in first person.

See thats what im saying - why does everyone play it so close up like that - you can't even see everything thats going on that way.

You can't get far enough away from your 'toon on overhead view. Personally, I always play from max distance behind, giving me a good view of my surroundings, and I've never met anyone who played up close.

Edited to say I do use overhead view a little bit, but only when I'm in flight on the taxi mounts. That's the easiest way to mark co-ordinates for herb and mineral spawn points.

Pretty sure they closed up the distance in a patch. I stopped playing for a year or so, then started again and found that I couldn't back the camera up as far away as I like.

In the end, Okonkwo threw the Cat.
