Clerks Animated Movie

Is this the Clerks Animated movie that Kevin Smith was talking about awhile back? I've seen it and enjoyed it on Clerks X, but was just wondering.

reply

No, kevin smith said there will most likely be a theatrical animated movie, which i bet'll come out a year or two after the passion of the clerks.

"Pack of fags?"
"Youre a fag."
"its a cigerette, mate."
"Im not your mate, fag" -Randall (Clerks: Uncensored)

Awesome, another thing to look forward to. By the way, love your signature, one of my favorite lines in this series.

"(Flash Back over) Randall: You're a fag.
Dante: Fag means cigerette.
Randall: You're a cigerette"

I have the Clerks X DVD - which disk is this "lost scene" on? I can't find it in any of the special features on any of the 3 disks - anybody care to throw me a bone?

reply

It's on the first disk, you can enable it to play when it gets to its part in the film, or you can just go ahead and view it.

i hope they do an animted movie, even if it's straight to dvd. the cartoon ruled.

"the kid in the helmet"
"yes, look at him"

The animated movie is going to be straight to video and will be released about a year after Clerks 2. Kevin Smith has released the plot. It is going to be about Dante and Randal shooting a 16mm movie about being clerks. You can check out that little bit of info on newsaskew.com.

I love Kevin Smith and everything.

But I think the Clerks animated series is 10 times funnier than any of his movies.

I'm not knocking his movies though. I love them too.

But the show I adore.

Kevin Smith attended the Orlando Mega Convention 6 years ago. I was at his Q&A Session where someone asked Kevin if he would ever make a Clerks Part 2. He stated that he had no interest in making another Clerks movie however their production company had just finished a Clerks animated movie which he said would be in theatres in 2001. Now 5 years later and it's still not out. Not sure what the deal is... I saw a trailer for the Clerks cartoon movie awhile back and it looked funny as hell. The animation seemed about the same as the ABC series however there was tons of cussing and seemed like Jay and Silent Bob went from selling fireworks (like they did in the ABC series) and went back to selling drugs.

Oh, thank god. I loved the show and everything, but it's kinda disconserting when none of them (especially Jay) are swearing.

if you think the animated series is funnier than the movie that i can safley assume your probably like 12 or something. I'm not saying i dont like the animated series but the movie is much better. you kids need to respect cult classics and stop being little pus-sies

The "Clerks" animated movie has been rumored for years, and was even listed here on imdb for a while (titled "Clerks Sell Out," I believe) but I don't think it was ever actually made. If so, we would've surely seen it by now.

I just gotta comment in response to fattytubtubs. I was 23 when I first saw the series -- for the brief time it aired on ABC -- and I fell in love with it and was utterly pissed when they abruptly canceled it a week later. I bought the show when it was released on video, but I didn't see any of Smith's films until after "Jay and Silent Bob" hit disc, then I sort of backtracked through the View Askewniverse. While the live-action "Clerks" films are brilliant, I'll never have quite the affection for them that I have for the cartoon. I never tire of the cartoon, but I have to be in the right sort of mood to watch "Clerks." But it's like comparing oranges and grapefruit -- on the surface they may look similar, but they're entirely different things. I'd personally love to see a full-blown R-rated 90 minute cartoon.

I like how you say "respect cult classics." Because that basically is saying that "if its a cult classic its better then a movie that isn't!" Which isn't true. Some movies just aren't even talked about much, but you know what? There funnier then Clerks. So don't use dumb *beep* like "cult classic" to say its better. That doesn't cut CRAP.

Im not racist I just hate blacks, chinese, muslims, mexicans spanics,Indians,Arabs more then whites.
