lionsgate films squashing release

News of lionsgate films buying the US distribution rights came out in May 2007. Not a word about the US release has since been uttered. Lionsgate doesn't even acknowledge the existence of this film on its website. Clearly, lionsgate never intended to distribute this film. Lionsgate bought the rights to effectively block the release in the US for some unknown reason. Perhaps they felt like they over-saturated their market with their 2 other films, "skinwalkers" and "lycan (aka devil's hound)." Since open communication and basic information seem to be avoided concepts, we may never know what became of "wild country."
