Question about a death in the film

How does denny die? He doesn't eat the sandwishes that have the poison, in it. He eats the regular how is he the one that does. While the other two who did eat the sandwishes just get a little sick and then recover??? did I miss something?

The fly that fed on the bad meat in Bickleigh's lab somehow got into his alcohol if you remember he tasted and then smelled his alcohol near the end with a face. So Bickleigh's downfall was that he didn't kill that stupid fly. Guess one can't look over even the smallest things. Haha, I'm glad that something got Bickleigh in the end; he definately deserved it. Unlike Matchpoint, which has a similar setup but Jude Law gets away because of a tiny stupid lucky incident that was totally due to his overlooking something.

Denny's wife Madeleine murders him. She serves him water she knows is infected with typhoid. Dr. Bickleigh had lectured her frequently about her poor sanitation, which gave her the idea.

Bickleigh commits his own murders but is tried for them and acquitted. Instead, he is hanged for Madeleine's crime. A typhoid-carrying fly lands on his botulin cultures and implicates him. The police find the typhoid bacteria in his incubator.
