The director's comments pissed me off

I absolutley loved this movie. It did an excellent job of showing the evils of Communism in Vietnam. That being said, the young director really pissed me off when making comments on the extras features part of the DVD. He said that America was only in there for it's own greedy interests and didn't give a damn about the Vietnamese people. I'm convinced that if this guy were a white American he would be a Ho Chi Minh loving leftist. He grew up here and seemed to have the "hip" and "cool" political views that are in vogue with many young people. However, he was also raised by refugees of Communism, and knows all too well tha the can't side with the oppressors of his family and people. So he has this sort of split personality wanting to show the evils of Communism but be anti-American too. America DID care about the evils of Communism and DID sacrifice 50,000 of our young men to try to keep South Vietnam free. He should always remember that!

*beep* and what about the millions of Vietnamese civilians that were killed because of that war!? Those GI Joes are SOLDIERS. Boohoo. Its their job to get shot up. Where as millions of innocent civilians, who didn't even have a choice, got shot up, bombed, napalmed, and land mined. All because of your farking stupid war.

I suppose you think the US toppled all those left leaning South American democracies is justified? How about Iraqi and Afghanistan huh? It was to spread "more freedom" right?

Typical brainwashed moron.
