When he find out she was pregnant, why did he flip out like that?

I guess he felt trapped. The good part of him was probably glad but the other part didn't want to give up his job in Columbia.

I don't know anything about post-traumatic stress - but I suspect it played a big part in his reaction.

Jim only cared about himself. I think Mike and everyone else found out when it was too late. So Jim's girlfriend being pregnant was going against everything that he stood for which was him being an opportunist and someone who cared only for himself. He was pretty much using people throughout his entire life, so that mixed with him having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder threw him over the edge.

He has PTSD. peopel with PTSD are very impulsive and violent. Especially war verterns. When they get in a tight situation they snap.

A friend a mine went to iraq and the bunker next to his got hit with artilary and some of his buddies died. There was a moment after he came back when he was about unlock the door to the house when he heard a scream or a loud thud and he snapped. He kicked the door down and baged in and grabbed his old lady and choked slammed her onto the floor and pinned her down like he was in the WWF. His mother had to literally tackle him to get him off of her.

To me Jim is just the same only with a gun.
"Baby, I'm gonna sine yo pitty on the runny kine!"
