I think the ending would have been better if....

Mike did not kill Jim at the end, but just walked out of the car and ended like it did with Mike running to Sylvia. I thought killing him was just stupid since it tied him even more to the crime and Jim's poisonous influence.

Maybe it would be better for Mike, but would it have been better for Jim?

Leaving would've gone against Mike's character. He was a loyal. compassionate friend.

At that point Jim sealed his own fate. He should have dealt with the consequences of his actions which would have been a far more tragic ending. Instead he takes. what I feel is the cowards way out by implicating his friend in his own 'murder'.

Jim was paralyzed from the shoot-out. He kept saying "I can't feel anything" and showed Mike the wound on his head. Then he's saying "Mercy, it's a mercy kill". He couldn't shoot himself because he was paralyzed.

...they didn't drag it out for five frickin' minutes!

"Shoot me..."

"No!"

"Shoot me!"

"No!"

"Shoot me!"

"No!"

Yeah, they're dead; they're--all messed up!
