Odd, I kept ignoring this on Netflix

This film has been on Netflix for a long time, but I'd never watched it. For some reason, I thought it was a crummy film about shallow gay men in Thailand, in some kind of foreign language (without subtitles..) Maybe it was because I had seen Joey's "tongue" gag over and over in a generic trailer from a distributor of gay films.

I thought at first this film might have some purpose, some heart, but it was, in fact, a crummy film about shallow gay men. They weren't in Thailand and I understood every word, even when the story seemed lost and without purpose - which was most of the time. The ONLY redeeming quality was that the lead character, a reasonably young prostitute, wanted to have a "relationship" with an old guy. Not just an "older" guy, but an old guy. That was about it.

The production values were good, and that earned a couple points. Because gay films are still few and far between, I rated this one "7". It cost me nothing extra to watch on Netflix, and "Joey" was cute.
