But what do you expect from someone who has to fund and produce a movie almost all by himself with some friends' help?
Maybe a little effort. That would be a good place to start. Look at Peter Jackson's no budget first film, Bad Taste. I would argue that Jackson's film was even more of a "no budget backyard film" than Bone Sickness. Also, Jackson did not have the luxury of shooting on digital video and computer editing software. He used a damn Bolex wind up 16 mm, incapable of synchronized sound, built every last special effect himself, and put nothing short of his own blood, sweat, and tears into the production. What was the end result? A heralded cult masterpiece. This looks like some jerk off quickly shot "scenes" on home video, and edited them in a blender, with utter disregard for the finished product.
