sharewhen is this thing supposed to be out? it only says 2005 on the release date.
shareSorry to inform you, BigDubb, but this show has been cancelled by CBS and will probablly never be seen by anyone, not even those who participated. If you read some of the other posts on this you will see what happened. CBS did not have room for it cause they have so many other gold shows. So it is POOF...it is gone.
share[deleted]
I know that it is cancelled because I was a contestant on the show and they never notified me with an air date. Then I ran accross Robert Englund's interview with www.phillyburbs.com/freddy/nightmares. He confirmed it was cancelled. So that was the end of it.
sharejust because somebody confirms its cancelled, there is always a chance that it might pop back... lots of shows have done that... even though you were a contestant on the show the air date may be run past you but no one cares what u say because you are not administration, you have absolutely no idea that it may or may not be aired sometime in the future..As i said it may just pop back!

maybe it's available for download on some bittorrent site?
shareIt could go straight to DVD. Maybe, it will appear in a New Nightmare on Elm Street DVD Box Set. DVD's are making a lot of money for people and getting unknown films get there names out there.
I mean, think about it. Eager Krueger fans like yourselves...and one contestant would certainly pay maybe, up to, if not at least, $30 to get the episodes of this show in a DVD box set, am I right? And think about that mathmatically, 30X(The Number of Fans=A LOT OF MONEY!!!! Someone will see that soon, and put the series on DVD...OR in another Nightmare On Elm Street DVD box set with Other Great special features for maybe like $100 (Cause the Box set that's out there now, is $70)
Economically, it would be stupid NOT to put the seris on DVD. Freddy Krueger is one of the most notorious Horror characters of all time. Sit back and be patient I say, because they WILL put it on DVD.
I gaurantee it.
It's been 2 years since the show was taped. Seems like they would have done something by now, if they were going to at all.
shareWell, Horsegall, maybe it will pop up someday. It would certainly give me some closure on the experence! Your'e right, no one cares what I say about it, one way or another. I mean, come one, reality contestants are like Lt. Ellen Ripley on 'ALIEN', "crew expendible!" That's the point. Sigh.....
sharei was looking forward to this series. It's a dam shame.

Okay, so how do we notify SciFi and ask em' to purchase this from CBS?

Well, now, isn't that interesting....hmmmm. Bootleg, huh? Think I'll decline giving my name.
share[deleted]
Ok. Well, I hate to disappoint you....I'm not a kid. And yes, I was there but am not real eager to open myself up. I would say that my episode was not classically exciting to the average Englund fan. After pushing to great heights, I now can accomplish almost anything. (Not due to the CLOWNING around, or RATS, or being chased by a MONSTER in the cold, dark sewer. But , HISS, snakes are just as bad as the fear of SPIDERS I used to have. OOOPs..I spilt the beans. Read the interview at www.phillyburbs.com/freddy/nightmares. You will find a mention of it.

Well, now. The mention of rats, spiders, heights, and snakes was a reference to some of the nightmares/phobias of some of the contestants. Also, I don't believe we are talking about the same show...All the names in the First Billing that you listed are not names I am familiar with. None of them. Perhaps you are talking about some other show. This was a reality show......the contestants were the cast. Sounds like a little miscommunication. Good day....

Funny how if you go to that link, it doesn't work, you big a** liar.

CORRECT WEBLINK FOR THIS INTERVIEW:
www.phillyburbs.com/freddy/nightmares.shtml
You must scroll down a long, long, way once you reach it, but it is there.
If you cannot find the interview this way, if you go to www.phillyburbs.com and click on SEARCH, then type in 'the robert englund interview real nightmares' it will take you to it. It is archived and interview was given in March 2005.
The corrected link works for me.
From the interview "The first question is on your new television show, "The Real Nightmares." We've been out waiting for it - have they given you a premiere time yet?
No, actually on January 15th, we heard we weren't going to get on the air. We did six episodes and a pilot - it's a reality television show - "
Fangoria confirmed that this is in the dead pile not too long ago as well. The link for the Fangoria report is in another post.
shareWe dont need another stupid reality show anyway. Bring back Freddy short stories or nothing at all.

I would like to see the series myself, since I was a contestant on the show. But I am afraid it is hopeless. Once CBS pulled the plug, it was gone. There has been no mention of it airing on another network, with the exception of Robert Englund saying something about 'it could "possibly" air on new CW network or WB', but he still sounded doubtful. I gave up hope of ever seeing my episode!
share[deleted]
Shame shame shame... for the people who looked forward to it (including myself). This is big bull *beep* if they are cancelling it. My hopes were up before I read fordonotfear's post that was claiming that it is cancelled, yet my hopes aren't any higher, nor any lower.
shareI got some photos on set : )....
shareyou gonna post where to see em?
shareI got photos, too. When they came to my home in July 2004 to shoot footage. Go to http://robertenglund.proboards31.com You'll have to search for them, but they are there. I dont't remember which thread I posted under, may have been newcomers thread. Or 'Nightmare related topics'.
shareWHY dont they make it available to download/buy the episodes from the internet, itunes or something like that.. i mean the hardcore fans would pay money to download it, and the less fans would not care probably, but they wont lose any monay, they will only gain. ITS NOT like they are gonna print dvds to give out there and risk money. putting the episodes on a server doesnt cost them anything practically....
shareFaraway, your suggestion is the best one I've heard. Wouldn't hurt to forward your suggestion to CBS....that's who scrapped the show. Really, it's a great idea.
shareI'm sad to say, there's a good chance the episodes were never even edited together- which would explain why we haven't seen it. Prehaps the pilot was, one or two episodes, but CBS probably doesn't want to pay for an editor, music for the series, and all the other odds and ends that go with it.
As much as I'd love to see it, I don't forsee it anytime in the near future.
I saw the episode on DVD at a recent Weekend of Horrors by Fangoria. It was definitely bootlegged. I would have bought it if I had known the series was canceled. Ill look to see if anyone has it at the upcomming Chiller Theatre convention at the end of October.

Cool....lots of folks would like to see it. Let everyone know if you find it.
share
They are making a Nightmare on elm street prequel!
But i'm really conufused because in nightmare 7 freddy was real and the actors where themselfs and then in freddy vs jason it was not following what happened in nightmare 7.... so are they just cutting one nightmare 7 or freddy vs jason?
*My head it hurts* Lol

Nightmare 7 was set in real life, so it doesn't translate into the movie series. Freddy vs. Jason (In continuity) was made to keep Freddy from the real world as stated in N7.
shareWrong
shareCare to elaborate or do you just think it's wrong?
shareWow, you replied quite a long time afterwards. About a month and a half, weird that I happened to check back here, although I haven't been posting much over the holidays myself so it was one my most recent posts, which I assume, is the same case for you.
Anyway, I think I was talking to the guy who posted before you about the Nightmare on Elm Street prequel. To tell you the truth though, I honsetly don't really remember. Sorry.
it will probly air on fox reallity
shareNo worries Goons, just wondering, since I like to know if I'm wrong about something.
The worst part about this is, it's probably never going to be released, not even as a homemade DVD sold on eBay.
so depressing :( i never saw the movies fully, but i still wish that i could at least see Robert acting in a game show, cus that would rock. They wont get released unless someone starts a mob wanting the show on air
