Outrage write to CBS

It seems Roberts show Real nightmares has been banished,
and CBS, now don't want to air it after all??
This to me is an outrage, just how many people have been waiting to see this show? So,grab a pen and some paper and write them :

To express your disappointment to CBS over the decision not to air NIGHTMARE
ON ELM STREET: REAL NIGHTMARES, the reality show that Robert Englund was to
host, please write a letter to the network at the following address:
Mr. Leslie Moonves
Chairman and CEO
CBS Television
7800 Beverly Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90036

reply

Well, where did you get the information that CBS was not going to air this show?

reply

Personally I would be glad to find out that this abomination of the name is cancelled.

Now insult my intelligence and taste in movies, you know you want to.

reply

i totally agree make a new movie or something but dont make a tv show.

reply

Especially not a reality show with Freddy hosting, could it be any more idiotic of an idea?

Now insult my intelligence and taste in movies, you know you want to.

reply

I personally think that it is an incredibly good idea. And I don't think that it is going to be "Freddy" I think that it is going to be just Robert Englund without the make-up.

In response to the comment '..I do hope Englund is relieved of this stereo-typical role...' (the Freddy Kruger role). IF THEY HAD AIRED THE PROGRAM, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE FREDDY ROLE.... HIS PERSONA CHANGED, FOR THIS SHOW, TO A 'VINCENT PRICE' SORT OF CHARACTER WHO GUIDES EACH CONTESTANT THROUGH A PSYCHOLOGICAL JOURNEY. He DID NOT wear the Freddy makeup, either. Had the show been given a chance, everyone would have been surprised, indeed.

Yes, Trumpetgirl, I agree with you totally. He is a very interesting man and from what I observed, 'knows his stuff'. I have been a bit touchy since finding out through the "grapevine" that the show has been shelved; it would be more ethical if production would contact the contestants, at least. But, Hollywood is not known for it's "fair work ethic", if you know what I mean. At least I can say I had a life-changing experience and, who knows, it may show up on UPN or some other network this summer. HHHmmmmmmm, maybe. I would still like to see the 'final product' on tape or DVD.

reply

I can only agree with you on that but you must realize movie politics will probably not allow that for the very reason you have stated. Almost everyone knows Robert Englund as Freddy or at least "the scary guy". I can't imagine that any director would want to gamble on whether or not consumers would still see him as the "scary guy" if he were try to fill the role of the protagonist in a love story.

Again, I do agree, but I find it highly improbable that it will ever happen. He may not even want to do it on that note, and I can't imagine for the reasons stated above that anyone would even bother contacting him about such a role.

It was in the news paper where i live it had the fall line up and on it was Freddy Kruger Real Nightmare.

reply

If it was in your newspaper that it was to be in the fall line-up, you musta been looking at last years, 2004 paper. Cause it was originally planned for fall 2004, but they kept bumping it, then they bumped it forever....

reply

No it was in that days paper unless my paper screwed up but who knows.

reply

Freddy is my favorite villain of all time, but I've got to say I thought this idea was stupid from the beginning. I'd much rather have a show like "Cooking with Freddy" over this junk.

However, if they've already filmed a whole season's worth of material, they should air it somewhere. At least on one of their affiliate cable channels, I'm sure they have at least one. If they don't, they could at least sell the rights to say...err...Sci-Fi channel or something.

reply

WHO KNOWS what they will do with it...probablly nothing!! It will collect dust at CBS. And THEY are calling the shots (CBS), since they bought it. It's a shame they(producers) didn't go with another network for this..it would have already aired. But CBS has too many #1 shows to make room for this little 6-episode "maybe they will like it" series.

Basicly. Look what happened with Freddy's Nightmares... now this should make at least SOME sense. But hey, if thats what u guys wanna do, fine. It's not my world, i didn't create it, so who cares?

reply

I hate to say it, but do companies even respond to petitions anymore? I just get the feeling that if I wrote a letter about this series it would get some kind of "pre-written" response with some executive's signature stamped on the bottom. Either that or it would go in the trash.

reply

I agree, this is outrageous, i think a show with freddy hosting would be great

I bought this pen one hour before my bike was stolen. Why? What's the significance? I don't know!

If you're talking about Les Moonves, it's certainly news to me. He was the one responsible for cancelling the excellent TV show "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (1996).
I could be wrong, though. Perhaps he took a trip to the wonderful land of Oz in the meantime along with the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion. And maybe, just maybe, they all got what they so desperately wanted.

are u guy actualy serius.u want the scary horor legend freddy kruegar to be remembered by some to be a gameshow host?

reply

I guess you didn't read much about the petitions to FOX that brought Family Guy back to TV?

reply

It wasn't so much the petitions that convinced Fox to bring back Family Guy, but the show's success on CN. It proved that there was an audience for it, and that it could be successful.

reply

Actually it was the petitons that brought Family guy back. And the letters. And the daipers sent to fox (for stewie). The CN reruns and DVD sales may have contributed but it was mainly the petitions, letters and baby products.

reply

I want my Freddy TV show, I was unfortunatley not alive when the show in the 80's was around..So when I heard about this show I was sooo excited!!
I hate CBS...effers.

reply

Guys, it's a smart, innovative and original idea.

I imagine it as a few contestants made to face their deepest fears, not some corny gameshow. I vision men and women bursting into tears yet determined to go through with it as Freddy quips and guides them through the scenarios. It could have psychological explanations also as to why we fear and what creates it. Everything from going underground to the darkness to spiders, anything! The possibilities are endless.

Robert could totally stay in character as a workable gimmick. With some really cleverly written lines, Freddy would steal the show.

I WANT TO SEE THIS!

reply

I was one of the preliminary contestants for this show.

in all honesty i don't think it was even really filmed!!! like someone said they kept bumping things back and back and back...................next thing i know i read that it was canceled before airing, and the dates just don't match up!

reply

If this show wasn't taped, I guess I was having a delusion when the crew (and Robert) came to my hometown in July 2004 to interview my family members and tape footage of my home. Then I had a hallucination when they flew me to L.A. end of August for the final 'challenge'. They taped the whole thing and found out Jan. 15, 2005 it was canned. It was CBS who 'kept putting them off.' Did you make it to the finals?

Wasn't it already shot?

With a writers strike on, I'd think they'd want to air any "new" material that they have!
