does this actually exist?

I'm not really sure at this point (having just found out about it!), if any episodes of this were really shot, and if so, how many.

If they do exist somewhere, surely they should be made available somehow?

From what I've read, they shot 6 episodes of it and then for some retarded reason they decided not to air them. So far as I know they are not available anywhere :(

We were in downtown Crown Point, Indiana (also where they shot scenes for Johnny Depp's upcoming movie Public Enemies) and a film crew was there shooting Robert Englund crossing the street over and over again. We asked him what it was for and he said it was for this "Real Nightmares" show that would be on CBS soon. So they definitely shot some scenes.

I was hoping the show would air. I was a 2nd 2nd AD on a couple episodes and it looked good. The makeup crew did a great job on an episode called "Clowns" where this lady had a huge fear of clowns. It's a shame they wouldn't at least try and air them on some channel...

Robert Englund addresses this issue in the new book, "Hollywood Monster." The reason the show never aired was because the network thought there was already a show like it: Fear Factor. So they shelved the project despite filming a few episodes. I wish they'd just put them online or something at the very least.

That's so stupid, since when is American television afraid to make a show that's similar to others? I really don't understand the concept of filming something only to never air it in any way either. Fair enough if it would cost them money to air it on TV but they could stick it on the net as someone already said, put it on their website on have it up on Itunes or Netflix or something. Hardly any TV shows get watched on TV anymore, I literally have watched nothing but Doctor Who actually on TV for the past 5 years. DVD and the net (though I'm not so legal about it, meh) are so much simpler.

The whole show was shot & filmed in late 2004. I was a contestant. The found out on January 15 it was shelved, so there went all that time & money down the drain. Doubt if it ever airs, it's been so long now.

What was your fear and have you found any episodes yet?

Assuming this show was similar to Fear Factor, other than your time and money making out to where the show was being recorded, did any of the contestants get paid? That's sucks you never saw yourself on TV. I think it should be mandatory that any person on a gameshow, etc. should get a DVD with their episode, whether it ever airs on tv or not.
