Jackson + Mel or Jackson+Taylor

I think I like Jackson/Mel better. And i think that in the show Taylor likes Jackson more than he likes her.

reply

same here. they were ment to be. but im not sure if taylor likes jackson in that way. im thinkin that theyre jus confining in each othr and melissa's taken it the wrong way.

reply

I really didn't see how her putting her head on his shoulder was that big of a deal. I mean, especially since this is Taylor we're talking about. Knowing that type of girl, she's probably done half of the school's football team. haha, oh stereotypes.

Jackson obviously cares for Mel and he knows how much she cares for him.
Of course they're all gonna get close if they're all stuck on an island together.

Jackson is much deeper than Taylor, he's definitely not shallow. Just for that example right there, it is shown that Jackson & Melissa will most definitely happen.

reply

yeah..you're right.

reply

I personally think that Jackson and Taylor should get together. He makes her a better person and in a strange way she makes him a better person as well. They are so good together and have so much of a connection! Jackson doesn't seem as into the relationship that Mel is after, he seems more drawn to Taylor and I think he likes and respects Melissa and may have some feelings for her; but i think that he's starting to realize that he might have feelings for Taylor and it is conflicting him.

reply

I completely agree with you "crazy_for_australia" Jackson and Taylor make a way better couple then Jackson and Mel.

reply

I have always loved Jackson and Melissa, because they are good friends and potentially more and that is most good relationships start. They have a great chemistry together and I think in many ways they do match each other - like Melissa is not weak but reserved. She confronts people with honesty when she feels she needs to like telling taylor that it was the fact that she "went after jackson" regards of melissa feelings that really hurt - there are ways to do this and Taylor did it horribly.

She tries to be a peacemaker. She is a voice of reason, when decides to be. This is why I think she matches Jackson and also her caring for everyone. Jackson seems to need this in a relationship, he has hard a time trusting people getting close and look how instantly they connected - sorry I am going off a bit.

=Obviously I am a jackson/melissa fan.

Jackson and Taylor aren't horrible together, after they have moved her past her "dumb" image and she becomes more real. But though she has her moments (mostly with Jackson) she is still one that tries to get out of work and such. I don't think she and jackson together would last as a couple, their friendship would.

Unfortunately Jackson likes them both and anyone who has been in a similair situation would understand why Melissa is upset with Taylor. It hard to know who Jackson will choose, if he does at all, because he likes two very different girls - for different reasons.

reply

I agree with tressian too. Mel and Jackson all the way!

reply

i personally like jackson and taylor.

i think that melissa seams a bit clingy

and i agree with crazy_for_australia when he'she said "I personally think that Jackson and Taylor should get together. reply

I agree with you. I think Jackson and Taylor had chemistry with each other and their relationship was sweet and adorable. Just because Mei liked Jackson doesn’t mean he HAD to reciprocate the same feelings toward her. She did not have the right to stake a claim on him….

reply

but i think taylor, is really un-shallow as well... i mean sure shes kinda stupid and uncaring but i think she really does have a heart.

reply

i agree a katrillion percent with "crazy_for_australia" ...
jackson and taylor are the cutest thing everr!
and it bugs me SO much how melissa gets all shocked everytime he's talking to a girl that isnt her
its like hello.. just because shes putting her head on his shoulder doesnt mean they're getting married... well in this case we don't know but seriously!
and melissa just overall bugs the crap out of me. ew i dont like her.
and i think deep down jackson really does like taylor.. cuz otherwise he would have given melissa a straight answer when she asked him if he liked her.
plus... jackson and taylor are my 2 favorite characters.. so them getting together would be perfectt haha
the movie's coming out tomorrow! WHOOO!

IDK, at first I was totally into Mel/Jackson, but Taylor and him aren't horrible either...personally I like Jackson kinda opening up to Melissa, but I don't really like him with anyone.

Yeah, thats what I think.

And if that doesn't work out, I guess Melissa can have him. I guess.

LONG POST AHEAD:

*WARNING: itdy bitty-sort-of-big-spoiler for episode 23**** (Also...I've only seen up to episode 23, so If other imprtant type things happen that involve Mel, Jackson and Taylor's relationship...well, I wouldn't know XD So feel free to laugh at me, heh.)

I vote jackson/taylor....though, first off, I really don't think anyone should "get together" on the island at this point in time. They have bigger concerns....however, as it seems with Daley and Nathan, they obviously don't mind, SO:

At first, I didn't feel one way or the other about Mel/Jackson, because they were both just *there* for me. If Mel wanted to have her secret crushy crush, then by all means, crush away, and he could return the feelings for all I cared.

But his new bond with Taylor, I find, is a million times more interesting than his non-existent-romantic-relationship with Mel. I mean, look at it this way: Here is Jackson, the "deep, brooding, all around attractive (well...maybe for Mel and half the girls on here....)guy, who is creative, and thoughtful in a cool kind of distant way, blah blah blah" Then you have stereotypical airhead Taylor. Who would have ever thought THOSE two could even hold a conversation together?

They have this "connection" for lack of a better term. Not the cheesy, romantic kind of connection, but, I mean, they are quickly becoming friends, and are becoming quite comfortable with each other. Jackson does not have that same connection with Mel. Of course he's nice, of course he enjoys her company, and I am sure he cares about her, but then again, I'm sure he cares about Nathan, Daley, Lex, and dare I say it, Eric, as well.

Plus, just because Mel has a crush on Jackson, doesn't mean they are automatically meant for each other. I mean, that's just reality, unrequited love, or cursh or whatever. All that jazz. It happens. As much as Mel trys to be close to him (and I'm not saying that they don't have a friendship), and boy, does she try hard, Taylor doesn't *try*, yet it just *happens*.

Ultimately Taylor/Jackson have the potential to be a diffrent, rather interesting, couple, given their different personalities and such. It's really cool to see how close they've become despite the boundries of BOTH of their stereotypes, because yes, Jackson does harbor some stereotypes of his own. Oh jeez, they all do. Mel/Jackson on the other hand...I mean, Mel is a typical nice girl, who doesn't like to make enemies. A bit boring, but you know, I like her. She isn’t a bad character. However, nice girls, even though they are sweet and kind, don't always get what they want because of it.

Hmm....maybe Mell will step a bit out of her quiet character, and take Jackson back from Taylor…nah. Then that would make her look paranoid and silly XD Oh well. Hopefully she can get over her jealously, or possibly ask Jackson what's going on rather than glare at them from her little corner, like she’s five.

Oh, one more thing. Though I don't mind Jackson/Taylor…they really do seem like just friends to me, heh. Close friends. I think they have the potential to be more, I suppose, but… can’t there be a deep friendship between a guy and a girl without there having to be a romantic aspect involved? I wouldn’t mind if they stayed as close as they were without anything else happening.

ah, Jeweled_cross08, thank you for not being a, for lack of a better term, shipper. So many people like the couples based on looks or just the show. Thank you for actually giving reasoning for your opinions!

I personally like Melissa and Jackson, but thats because I can relate to that sort of a relationship more. I've written my reasonings for liking that couple on here numerous times, and I really don't feel like repeating myself...again.

And yeah, I think Mel can be too nice. It's like she's spectating as her life goes on around her. She needs to be an existentialist and make her own decisions then stick to them. Though it may be weird, I think that if she did stand up for herself once in a while maybe he would see her standpoint on the situation.

And yes, why can't people ever just stay close friends? Why does it always have to be more?
As most of my friends aren't girls, but guys, I have to deal with this whole situation all too often. It gets very irritating after a while.

I already replied to this, and I said Jackson/Taylor but I found this fan video..

its really good! its about the jackson/mel/taylor love triangle.
but it makes it look like jackson likes taylor a lottt and not melissa whatsoever.
but being a jackson/taylor fan, i loved it!

reply

if Jackson is with Taylor can Melissa be with Eric. i think that they would be good together.

reply

I totally agree with you on that one!

I like Jackson/Taylor a whole lot better. I can't really see Mel with anyone.

I like Jakson/ Melissa 'cause I, just like bluedimonds1, can relate to that couple. Sorry, I'm kind of like Melissa, sweet, good student, sort of quiet. My bf is very quiet and Jackson - like, and he doesn't really share his real emotions. And his EYES! *sigh...* okay, 'll stop. I just think Talylor can't relate to being unpopular, or an outcast. Or poor.

reply

"I just think Talylor can't relate to being unpopular, or an outcast. Or poor. "

Do ones always have to realate to someone in order to have a healthy relationship with them? I don't think dating a carbon copy of yourself would be very fun. Jackson is a good dose of medicine for Taylor, because he can show her life when it's NOT all about clothes, money and make-up. Plus, they are both musically inclined: they both play instruments, (STRINGED instruments even, lol okay, I'll stop), so, it's not like they are on total opposite ends of the universe.

Heh, did I mention that I would still rather them say friends? XDD

reply

i really liked ur first comment Jeweled_cross08. I'm all for Jackson and Taylor. It's not like Mel called dibs on jackson or something, and shes blowing everything was out of proportion, so what if she put her head on his shoulder, she was sad and Jackson is her friend. the only problem is that I think that mel is going to end up with him in the movie, but i'm not 100% sure on that one, its just that since its Discovery Kids and all, I don't think they can end it like that. It's kinda like a good conquers evil kinda thing (not that taylor is evil)if u know what i mean, like because mel liked jackson in the beginning they will finaly fall for eachother in the end of the show. idk, but it just doesnt seem like discovery kids would be a channel that would break the nice girl's heart. so in shorter terms, i think that jackson and mel will end up together just because thats the way Discovery Kids is, but jackson and taylor would be much better.

Oh, and is mel does end up with jackson, i hope that taylor and eric get together, for anyone thats seen the last episode of season 2 on youtube, (i wont spoil it) but the way taylor reacts to eric at the very end, just makes it seem like they would be really good together too, and like at the dance when they danced together, very sweet episode :)

Ok i'm finished i promise

reply

Okay...Yes I definitely want Jackson and Melissa together. Everyone knows that.
He's just like that one thing in her life that would make all her years of being the underdog worth it.

But I am extremely attracted to Eric.
Not like a destiny thing, but like a lustful thing.
He intrigues me, but I know that I could never end up with that kind of guy.

And I think thats what Melissa's relationship is like with Eric.
Of course, they'd never say such a risque thing on DK, (ooh, lust!) but I think it's definitely possible.

You always have to look out for the quiet ones. Like Melissa.

reply

i like jackson and taylor!! i think that they are better for each other and with mel its seems like she likes him more than he likes her. i know he said he does but he doesn't really show it with actions. and when he looks at taylor it looks like he likes her, but the way he looks at mel seems more like just friends

reply

I'm all for Jackson/Taylor, just because they seem more the romantic couple. Plus, in the last season or so, whenever the other is mentioned, there always is a small smile on either one of their faces.

Jackson/Mel would have been cute, but I now see it as more of a really close friendship. He finds "security" in her, but he seems to be into Taylor in a romantic way.

reply

I prefer Jackson and Melissa.

And I'm with you, I think Taylor likes Jackson more than the other way around.

reply

Jackson and Mel definitely make a much better couple!

reply

Jackson and Melissa never seemed to have that much chemistry to me, it always felt one sided and that Jackson thought of her as more of a good friend. However I LOVE the idea of Jackson and Taylor being together, the fact that they're so different makes it that much better. She brings out his lighter side and he brings out her more serious side; they complete each other!

Not to mention Melissa is a little annoying the way she always acts so betrayed, and in my opinion a bit childish whenever Jackson gets close to another girl. They're alone on a tropical island...he's allowed to bond!

reply

jackson and taylor
but considering how predictible it is that mellissa and jackson are going to get together in the movie, im changing my mindset so i won't be upset with the movie. lol.

reply

In theory I would rather see Jackson/Mel becasue it would be nice for her to get what she wants. I think they would be good for each other. In actuallity I do like Jackson/Taylor...my first reason is really shallow . I think they look better than Jackson/mel.. Taylor whines less when its just her and Jackson.
I think the math would work out better if jackson/mel came about because then we could get 3 couples instead of just 2. but i guess thats kind of stupid..I'm a romantic at heart and so I always pair people up when I watch shows....lol..

Some of the greatest plays ever were total flukes-Owen Anthony in Naturally Saddie

reply

I think Jackson likes both girls, they just haven't shown much of the Melissa/Jackson angle during the second season, probably because Taylor needed a lot of character development. The show seems to be leaning towards a Melissa/Jackson ending, as Melissa would take rejection harder than Taylor would, and Taylor has Eric as a backup. Jackson needs to hurry up and choose even though he seems confused. One or neither, not both, because it's unfair to both Melissa and Taylor.

reply

Jackson + Melissa.

Now, I'm still pretty new to the series. I only found out about it a couple weeks ago because we started to read the first book in English. Now though, I'm addicted to the show and book. Jackson and Melissa quickly became my favorite characters, and when I found out about the pairing, I was bloody excited.

Taylor x Jackson, it never struck me as anything serious. I think they're both on completely different levels, and while opposites can attract, I disagree with that happening all the time. She's the status-loving, popular beauty queen. Jackson is the new tough boy, a bit of a loner, and quiet. They're worlds apart. While I do believe they can be good friends, it just dosn't seem right to me for them to begin a relationship. Sure, Jackson DOES bring out the good side in Taylor. That isn't reason enough for me to like the pairing. Friends can help each other. Friends can care about each other. Friends can bring out the good in others. That dosn't mean they have to be lovers. What happens when they get off the island too? Taylor goes back to her beauty-popular-high-status life, and what would it do to Taylor's reputation if she started dating a new boy that no one knows anything about? I'll reluctantly admit, there is possibility, I cannot deny that. To me though, it feels as if she likes him more than he likes her.

Jackson x Melissa, beautiful. To me it reminds me of the clique bad boy and good girl sort of relationship, but it goes oh so much deeper than that. Melissa is weak, Jackson is strong. Melissa is optimistic, Jackson is pessimistic. Melissa is a follower, Jackson is a leader (Or some-what anyways). They are so different, yet they're so the same. Melissa is afraid of hurting people, while Jackson really dosn't care. I love the idea of how they could help each other. For her jealousy, I really feel for her. Melissa is hurt, but she's not a mean type of girl. It's said that she dislikes enemies, so one would assume the same for gaining a rival. It may be true that she was never really close to Taylor and the girls weren't on very good terms, but I bet she does feel betrayed and confused. She's not a confrontational person, she's not going to go up to Taylor and give her a slap across the face. No, she won't do that because she's too nice. She's not even very good with confrontation, because Mel is always trying to be so uninsulting. See, while Jackson cares too little, Melissa cares too much. And truthfully, Melissa isn't boring to me. Have we really seen what she holds inside? She's always trying to be so unoffensive and people-pleasing, that I bet she holds a lot of her own emotions inside that she dosn't tell to anyone. Just because we haven't seen them, dosn't mean the possibility of their existance dosn't exist. Inside, she could be balls of nerves and a trainwreck of emotions, or maybe she's still level-headed. Jackson could help her with this, and she could help him.

Not all of my information is accurate, forgive me, and this is only my opinion ^^;; ( I can't finish everything that I wanted to say, so this is all I'm going to get in )
*Sorry this sounds so jumbled and un-well-written-y Dx I'm working on two projects for English at the time. Dx

reply

wow that was a great analysis. I agree with everything you said, being a Jackson/Mel shipper myself. Did you actually read the first book in an English class? Also, are you from England? When you used "bloody excited" I couldn't help but think that.

reply

well from just watching the shows from when it first premiered last month and whatever i can find on youtube, i say that i dont really know who would be better off with jackson. both scenarios are a bit sterotypical if you ask me.

jackson & mel: hes the tough new kid who just doesnt care, and shes the shy one whos always trying to please people. in any other movie, theyd end up together because well thats just how movies are. the bad boy with the good girl.

jackson & tayler: once again, hes the new kid that not that many people know about. hes a mystery. shes the schools popularity queen. in any other movie theyd end up together because opposites attract. the popular girl ends up with the boy that no one would ever expect her to actually idealistically date. its like those movies where shes popular and hes new, she thinks hes obnoxious at first but then they start hanging out and feelings are made.

but what happens when both cliches are put together? i think mel and jackson are gonna end up together because thats just how they implied it in the start and thats just how discovery kids is. i dont really know if i prefer mel + jackson over tyler + jackson, but i think this is whats gonna happen:
1. mel & jackson
2. tayler & eric
3. daley & nathan

but thats just my opinion.
and umm, i'm not picking any ships or anything, but i just want to say that although i think both couples are cute, tayler and jackson have some really cute moments together.

**SPOILERS:

at 5:28, tayler and jackson look really cute together. and in this episode they just seem to connect.

I think Taylor likes Jackson in a I'll-flirt-with-you-while-you're-there kind of way. Melissa really really personally likes him.
As to how he feels about them..
I think he's attracted to Taylor, and he likes Mel as a really good friend.

It's hard to tell which he LIKE-likes, because Jackson's hard to read.
He could like them both very much, or like neither very much.
I guess we'll find out soon.

Both couples are cute, for different reasons.
With Mel, they're similar and comfortable.
With Tay, they're opposites and it's fun/exciting.

I like both girls, so I don't know what I'd prefer,
but I'm leaning more towards Mel and Jackson.
They're really cute together, and I would also like to see Melissa get what she wants. Anyhow, she's liked Jackson way longer, and probably for better reasons.

But you know,
I still think the very best combination would be

Jackson and ME.

yeah, the only thing i dont like about mel is that she has that whole jealous vibe to her. i mean, her and jackson arent even dating..so she doesnt have to go all "omg, how could you do that?!" hes allowed to talk to other people. lol. but i'm still undecided on the whole mel+jackson vs. taylor+jackson, cuz i honestly love both couples.

Definitely Jackson and Taylor; they were a lot more interesting and featured more character development. I'll just clip what I posted elsewhere...

Jackson's most interesting relationship was definitely with Taylor. Their differences created some nice character development, bringing out sides in both that we hadn't seen before.

I liked them better than J/M not only because it was more entertaining, but because it felt more believable. Here are the reasons why:

The Jackson and Melissa relationship was founded mostly on a one-sided crush, while Jackson and Taylor, throughout Season 2, had a far more mutual bond.

It can also be noted that, for the most part, Melissa was the one who'd try approaching Jackson all the time throughout Season 1 and back at school -- not the other way around. Jackson, on the other hand, actually approached Taylor at the beginning of Season 2 when he could tell she was upset, stating a deeper reason for being drawn to her than a simple infatuation. Not only that, but he also offered to be there if she ever wanted to talk.

Furthermore, we actually got to see Jackson and Taylor's feelings developing. We watched Jackson comforting her after Daley put her down; we watched Taylor open up to him about her dad; we watched Jackson open up to Taylor about his secret hobby; we even saw Jackson being affectionate with her by leaning his head against hers.

When Jackson hugged Melissa at the end of Season 1 and shared a secret with her, it only happened because he was upset over something negative. By contrast, when Jackson opened up to Taylor in one episode, and became affectionate with her in another, both occasions were triggered by something positive -- the two of them simply enjoyed each other's company.

Finally, as mentioned previously above, Jackson gave actual reasons for liking Taylor: He stated that he felt she was the only one who allowed herself to be honest on the island, and he was charmed that she could make him laugh. By comparison, his sudden declaration of liking Melissa back felt forced, out-of-nowhere, and not very believable (being friendly with someone who has a crush on you doesn't automatically lead to feeling the same way as them).

MacHale blew it big time by not honouring Jackson and Taylor in the movie. As stated, Jackson's most interesting, entertaining, and believable relationship was with Taylor.
