I am offended by the Harry and David reference

I've worked for Harry and David for almost 10 years and we have three call centers: Medford Oregon (The main call center), Eugene Oregon (Which is only open during the Christmas Season), and Hopewell Ohio (which is the back up call center). IT IS NOT IN INDIA!

I'm Catholic deal with it.

It's good to be offended. People really do need to take more things personally that aren't directed at them personally. And remember to be angry. Never stop being angry.

and you're offended... why?

I don't know what it is about a crowd, the bigger it is, the more people that show up.

What is so offensive about an Indian call center? Capitalism dictates and thrives upon a constant review of costs and submission to cheaper alternatives to achieve the same end result. If Indian, or other foreign call centers prove to be inadequate, they will not survive. The US business machine innovates, produces, let's other's imitate, and then moves on to new innovations. That is the life cycle and life blood of capitalism.

I've been the victim of outsourcing. I'm a 44 year old computer programmer. It would be easy to curl up and die in the face of outsourcing. But the fact remains that someone can do my job as effectively at a lower cost that I can. It's an opportunity. It has forced me to reinvent myself.

The funniest part is when you hear one of the operators say "Hello, the White House."

GREAT STUFF!!

I don't think that part was funny at all. As a matter of fact, nothing in the film was funny to me. I thought this film was supposed to be a comedy, but the few real jokes were worse than a kindergartner would tell. This was a really sorry excuse for a film, IMO.

Dear Sir,

The research department here at Warner Brothers Entertainment have reviewed your complaint and are looking into the situation. Be assured that we take these matters very seriously! We have found that your claim is accurate, and the company Harry and David in fact did not have a call center in the city of New Deli or in the country of India at the time of the release of the movie "Looking For Comedy in the Muslim World." We will swiftly take appropriate measures beginning with the recall of all 600 plus copies of the DVD known to have been sold. We will commence immediate cancellation of of all licensing agreements with HBO, Cinemax, and future syndication and distribution channels. Further, writer and director Albert Brooks will be facing a series of interdepartmental disciplinary actions beginning with a public apology. Tighter scrutiny will be paid to his material in the future.

We at Warner Brothers Entertainment work very hard at making sure ALL of our various entertainment products are of the highest quality. Since the release of "Speed Racer" we have adopted a new stringent, zero-tolerance policy regarding offensive material and we have incorporated a thorough screening process of audience testing aimed at filtering out ANY potential offensive material. All films are now being reedited and streamlined, and will not be released until we here at Warner Brothers are satisfied that the entertainment product going out the door with our logo on it meets the highest standards in non offensiveness. If a film is determined to be unmanageable in terms of offensiveness, it simply will not be released. There are things more important than the bottom line!

Please forgive this over site, we will diligently work hard to prevent any further incidents like this in the future.

Sincerely,

Tom Browning
Senior Marketing Director
Warner Brothers Entertaiment

I think you took the call center joke a little too seriously. One of the agents answers the phone "The White House". Of course, The White House does not outsource its switchboard.
