Forgive me if this has been talked about before but wasnt this movie done before in that twilight zone episode? Im not saying the movie is bad...i like it...im just wondering if anyone else remembers...and if it has been talked about before please call me out on it lol

Touch of Evil (Orson Welles, 1958).
This story is THREE genres:
1. AS you both said modern version of that Twilight Zone episode (in the episode a human tries to fight one of those boxer androids and gets the tar beaten out of him). If any human faced the robots in this he would die horribly unless he had Kryptonian DNA.
2. Stallone's 1986 movie OVER THE TOP. He is a truck driver and a loser and estranged from his son and trying to pull his life together just like Stallone in Over the Top.
3. Obvious parallels to ROCKY (especially the first one since they put up a good fight and still lose).
maybe elements of Terminator 2 or Bicentennial Man or any other sci fi story where a supposedly emotionless robot shows SOME emotion, the robot in this felt a degree of affection for the boy that a totally emotionless machine should not.
It kinda reminded me of Paper Moon also
shareYou can ask almost any Twilight Zone fan about this and they’ll tell you that this movie was based on that episode. It wasn’t exactly but comparisons are unavoidable.
This movie also probably had other inspirations. It’s neat.
